Laptop with 17.3" 1600x900 screen, Intel Pentium N3540 Quad-core 2.16 GHz, 4GB RAM, 1TB HDD, DVD writer, integrated graphics, Windows 8.1.

Looked like a great price for a larger-screen "general purpose" laptop (with this sort of spec, you're not going to be gaming on it, but it's perfectly fine for day to day use)

NOTE: the RAM cannot be upgraded very easily, so if you absolutely need > 4GB this would not be the machine for you.

Don't buy if you need to upgrade RAM. It requires complete dismantling.

That becomes a norm nowadays. Just buy a few useful tools (guitar pick case openers, small torx, small phillips screwdivers) on ebay, look at the dismantling videos on youtube and you can do the job (delicately). The risk is more in maintaining warranty if certain screws are covered with warranty stickers.

Its not complete dismantling - Yes the entire back cover needs to come off (30+ Screws) But as long as you have a small phillips screw driver and a pot to put the screws in your fine.

If you want to upgrade the memory you will to get an 8gb simm as it only has one slot
