Right, promise this is my last very computing deal! After looking for a decent laptop for the last few weeks and taking in all of your comments hopefully I have got it right this time! Pretty sure this one ticks all the boxes...

Hard drive... SSD and HDD
RAM... 8gb and DDR4
Processor... it's a U unfortunately but an i5 should be good paired with the SSD, my old i3 4005u has great load times on windows
dedicated graphics card... NVidia GeForce GTX 950M 4GB, not the most up to date card but should still run older games great and newish ones on low settings
Screen... 15.6 inch (39.6cm) Full HD LED-Backlit Display (1920x1080)

here's a video of the CPU and GPU running gta5 at a good 30fps
https://youtu.be/6t9SVI31bc4

the build quality looks pretty decent too, now I know this isn't a high end gaming machine but for 550 after cash back it seems great. compared to the other deals like the lenovo i7 which badly needed an SSD, to have two spaces for hard drives is a massive bonus and the graphics card on this one looks a lot better.

as always use buy now pay later but don't pay anything off until the 100 has been received on your account, then just pay it off and close your credit account if you want ?

Find me a laptop with a higher graphics card and two drives for 550 please
no?

Then don't write silly then ! This looks like a really balanced laptop with no compromises... It's obviously not going to have the latest graphics card for 550 but will handle gaming a lot better than an i7u and a cheaper GPU ...

no it's for anyone with an account, you have to have a credit account with very though. then when you go to buy choose the buy now pay later option over 12 months and it will show the balance on your account. then just pay as much as you want every month but make sure you pay it off before a year or they will put ridiculous interest rates on your purchase

This deal was posted a few weeks ago, and could be used with the 10% off first order which has now expired. If you read the comments there lots of people phoned and had online chats and were told it was okay. This was a better deal cause the extra 10% and the £13 topcashback made it £480

Hmmm, I'd still be wary to be honest. I've had these deals before and quidco doesn't even track, and the 100 doesn't come on straight away so you wouldn't be able to argue it later once you've used it. This kinda thing is what gets very a bad reputation as they have mixed messages.

shame nobody on that post says what they think of the laptop when they got it.

I don't understand some of the above comments, this looks a very well balanced machine to me. The 950m may not be the absolute best mobile GPU money can buy, but it suits the 1080p screen here perfectly well. Having the ssd will give a much better overall performance boost than upgrading the GPU imo. Decent audio, fast ram, and loads of storage too. People get overly obsessed with specs sometimes.

This machine is capable of Xbox 1/PS4 levels of graphics/gaming, and will fly though normal PC tasks. Throw in the 12 months interest free and I'm struggling to find a better deal.

Thanks op, hot.

Can I ask what level of settings are you playing on WoW and what fps are you getting? I would be playing WoW if I go for this deal. Thanks,

I always find the comments on computers amusing. No matter what the deal some bright spark will always vote cold and say they can do better or dismiss it because of an inferior graphics card. When tasked with proving a better deal they seldom can!!

Don't mind the trolls - half of them don't earn enough to buy pocket calculators so just end up slamming anything they can't afford. The other half are rich b*******s who have more money then sense. This is a good deal for the money. Can't find any other laptop with a GTX 950m and SSD for the price.

The 950m will play anything you throw at it on medium details at 1080p. You will most likely be able to max out WoW at 1080p (don't expect huge framerates due to the weakish CPU).

I know this as I have just bought a similar laptop with a 940m for a friend and he is playing The Witcher 3 on it with reasonable details at 1080p. He also plays WoW and CS:GO maxed out and is quite happy with the resulting FPS (note that his CPU is a bit better but it shouldn't be too different).

No expert on graphics cards, but I am not sure why this is so hot. Specs seem a little poor for the price. Okay there is 100 off and having 2 drive bays is cool. But I think some of the MSI laptops would beat this for similar money. Would research more but I am writing on a smartphone.

just look at the benchmark comparison on the GPU this is far better. and with an SSD to speed it up even more

I could only find this similar...

50 more with a better CPU but no SSD. Depends what your after I guess, I would prefer an SSD as it makes even my i3u fly through everything. There will probably be similar deals but I was struggling to find one with a SSD and HDD that could run gta5 standard games at this price. Always seems to be a compromise, good SSD but hardly any space so would fill up too quick or a big HDD that would perform slow on a Intel u series chip

What?!

First of all, the vaguely equivalent laptop comes out more expensive at £574.93. That's before import fees and delivery to the UK.

Secondly, even if it was cheaper (it's going to work out SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive if you get stung by customs, which I'd bet you will), I'd caution people to know what they are buying into spending £550+ on a product from China. If you need to RMA the laptop, you will, even with the best will in the world, run into issues, even if just from a logistical perspective, and even from someone like Xiaomi, who do seem to make fair quality products.

I agree, I just thought it's a good idea to evaluate our deal here, if they can make a better quality/ultra portable/good spec laptop over there commercially available, could be a fair guidance to anyone who might upgrade in near future here.

Problem is how long do you wait before the new smaller chips are out over here. And companies are still short changing people by not offering what they want, it's always small SSD or large HDD, good processor with a poor GPU, there always seems to be something missing like they do with phones. Sure one day they will get it right but itbseeks hit and miss on getting a complete laptop package. This one doesn't seem too thick too but obviously ultra thin ones would be good
