good price op, decent spec for the money, always someone complaining about their "ordeal" with a brand, the reason there r complaints about products, cause they sell thousands, small percentages go wrong, vote cold if u find a cheaper deal
#2
Well Said vote on the deal

code 5C19YD does not work, its one of dabs/bt shop email only deals and this been sumitted several thousand times.

read the deal ... QUICKLINX 5C19YD to get this price. It's the quick product search.
#5
Works for me, excellent price for a 3g netbook!
#6
i wonder if bt employees can get this for cheaper?

i entered the code on the wrong box, lol. its stupid how dabs has free delivery and bt shop does not. Also you must change the total price to include delivery. I tried the quiklinx code on dabs and didnt work. voted hot, have some rep too.

im looking for a small laptop just for internet browsing, uni work, small app usage. ive seen various posts on how you can add ram etc. is this the best around for £200? i have seen loads of people complain how 3 hours isnt enough for battery time. Just out of interest is there any other laptops that boast a couple extra add ons which might entice someone to spend a little extra?

this is a netbook, not a laptop! it wont be the same as a laptop. If you want a laptop buy a laptop, not a netbook, netbook is not your every day computer.. It wont run ur usual tasks that you would in a laptop. netbook is only suitable for typing and surfing the web. the screen on a netbook is smaller some netbook dont have the full size keyboard, majority of netbooks like this one do not have a dvd or blu ray drive. Their graphics capability arent as good, some would struggle to play Hi definition youtube videos. Netbooks are a portable machine to surf the net and type, their battery life can up to 10hrs but not on this acer.
for those on a very low budget buy this laptop http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/476379/toshiba-satellite-l300-1fs-15-4-inc/http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/468793/toshiba-l300-202-laptop-309-99-deli/http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/473964/toshiba-satellite-pro-l300-22e-lapt/

cheers, realistically i would want to use the netbook for ( if capable ) to listen to music, internet, office, maybe download, stream online, etc usual stuff. nothing too high tech. is it viable? i like the acer netbooks because they actually do look nice and it easy because i do alot of motorway journeys so a nice dvd or online stream would be handy, also many people are buying acers. but i will wait till xmas. its around the corner and with stores already putting xmas cards and other stuff up i presume xmas will start very early.

i also plan to wait till xmas or boxing day sale, as i mentioned before it does not have a dvd player and will struggle at streaming hi definition content.

if you want to stream / watch HD content or play DVDs then a netbook isnt for you

these are features more aimed at laptop users....HD video is pointless on a 10" screen

fair good deal, i got this netbook a while back and has been my main computer for a lot of the time due to me not buying a new monitor since my old 1 died lol.

got everything running great on it. obvo my office , CS4 Master collection, Everything runs really smooth, a few games including UT GOTY, and a PS1 Emu with a couple of old games Ive tried to keep away from to prevent scratches (stupid discs, cartridges never had problems when scratched lol) and all that runs fine, i occasionally watch films and listen to music.

basically great little netbook at a fair decent price...

good price, voted hot

I have 4 of the non-3G versions, they are lovely

got my sister one, and my girlf too

lol, ur avatar keps making me think your username is hayden panettiere, it stands out too much!

I've voted hot as i think its a good deal i have the non xp model that i got for about £120 from Tesco deal a few month ago :-D
But to be fair i do agree with the cold vote as if he/she had bad experience with Acer buying anything from them for him/her wouldn't be a hot deal to them really

I do recall a few years back having owning a HP printer that was £300+ and it developed a fault i phoned the technical support number and told them the fault and got response "what do you want me to do about it" lol needless to say not a very nice response back then and i don't own a HP printer now :whistling:

i dont think anyone would justify watching hd on a 10''.

if it does struggle to stream videos etc. then maybe it might be worth getting an entry level laptop

Hot deal ! My wife has been using this netbook daily for the past several months, mainly for internet browsing. No problem whatsoever. The price is really tempting me now to get one for myself. Really recommended. H&R added.

What does this mean. Does it mean I dont need to use my broadband dongle? Do I just put my mobile broadband simcard straight into the netbook?

I'd disagree on this point. A netbook can be an everyday computer, and I've been using a Samsung NC10 everyday for the last 10 months.

It depends what you're using it for. For me, every day computing involves web surfing, music & photo library management, word processing/excel tasks. I don't watch dvd's or play video games on my computer, as I have a dvd player and a PS3 for that. Netbooks can play downloaded standard def films well enough though anyway, and are less likely to run out of battery as quickly as an entry level laptop.

mine seem happy with youtube + divx/xvid + dvd across a network from a media server

I don't have any HD content to try, but suspect it would have a problem here

Great find - where did you find it (magazine, back of a bill, etc.)?

have got one of these... any idea how to get the 3G internal modem to work?

I've inserted my SIM card in the slot behind the battery, and pushed the switch on the front to the left to activate 3G.... have also downloaded the 3G connectivity manager... but its coming up as not recognising the "something or other"!

any clues?
