Most boffer deals are absolute rubbish but this one seems to be worthwhile for a 2nd laptop.

. Now with inbuilt 3G connectivity you can connect to the web anywhere and eliminate the need for a dongle or USB stick!

that is good but 16gb this times :((

Do these have 2.5" drives that can be changed? This would be ideal apart from the 16gb hdd.

Sounds like it's got a 'flash' memory drive.
I don't think you can add a hd easily.
You should have 2 SD slots you could use instead?

[FONT=Verdana]It's a 16GB SSD that's present within it, from what I can remember - it is possible to install a SATA hard drive into it but it will take a bit of work and time along with also invalidating any warranty support for it as well.

Whatever you do you can't upgrade the screen which with less than 9'' is simply too small for comfortable use :-(

Absolute rubbish; I have a pair of AA1's & the screen size (8.9") has never been an issue.
The screen resolution (1024x600) causes some problems, but almost all of the 10.1" netbooks are no better; they use exactly the same res!
The only other minor complaint is the keyboard - fine for web browsing but I wouldn't want to type up an essay on it.

As for ram issues, 1gb is absolutely fine for XP.

My blue AA1 has 160GB HDD, 1.5Gb ram & touchscreen mod. (bought for £149.99 from Asda, ram upgrade £10, touchscreen mod £45)
My white AA1 has 120GB HDD, 1.0Gb ram. (bought for £129.99 from Tesco)
They both came with Linpus, but now have XP Pro installed.
The extra 1/2Gb of ram in the blue netbook gives almost zero performance gains for most tasks.

Regard this deal itself.
+ It's the larger 16Gb SSD rather than the more common 8Gb.
- The SSD is dog slow. I'd much rather have the HDD version.
- Given that I paid less for the HDD version more than 12 months ago, the price is poor.
- It's pink =)
