You didn't look very hard  I got one in the Asda deal a while ago, upgraded the memory to 1.5gb (max) and loaded Windows XP - its been working faultlessly and is switched on about 15 hrs a day - would recommend. Quick search on here shows these links....

Expansys is cheaper anyway (for the white/grey one).
They sell it for £146.61 delivered, after using the £10.00 Modaco.com voucher (voucher is valid until 30th of June 2009).

Yep I did notice the 'XP version' request, but am aware that some folk can be creative in getting a legal copy of XP quite cheaply - I've heard of folk that buy old PCs (often only a tenner for non-working old PC) from car boot sales with legit XP installed, just delete the old version and install on new netbook - sorted.

However if this isn't an option, then yes my results aren't much use :-(

As cybergibbons said, I was specifically looking for the XP version.

I know you can get the Linux version for a fair bit cheaper but to avoid the hassle I'd rather just pay a bit extra for XP already installed.

If anyone can find it cheaper I'd like to see it - Other than the pink version ;-)

If your not in a hurry then it may pay to wait a couple of weeks when the July sales start. Also prices may fall further as the 8.9" version is in the process of being replaced by the larger screen models (10" & 11") - if I see any good deals I'll let you know....

These have been much cheaper recently, even if this is the cheapest at the moment.

Does it absolutely have to be the Acer Aspire One? If you don't mind refurbished (although still with a year warranty) then this Advent from dixons can be had for £194 with the 5COMP voucher. In my opinion this is a much better model than the Acer.
