Grab the ATI 5850 from **** on a special pre order price at the moment for £107.99 and you'll have a machine which flies!

So for £ 683.93 ex delivery you'll have a much future proof PC with a GPU which beats the GTX460!

Obviously you'll have to build the PC and this is assuming you have an OS at hand!

This deal is aimed at those who don't want to (or can't) build their own PC which is always (obviously) going to be cheaper

This is a very nice prebuilt for gaming, you won't find many like this with good components. It would be cheaper to build your own if you are smart about it (I did a quick add up) but compared to the other prebuilt systems on the market (which are often more expensive) this is a steal.
#4
this is a good price for a prebuilt system of that spec.

You can buy a Dell XPS 8300 with an i5-2500 (Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz Quad), 4GB RAM, 1TB HDD & a Radeon HD 5450 for £599 delivered or ~£565 after TopCashback.
So that leaves ~£95 to go towards a decent GPU before you sell the HD 5450.
The XPS are decent quality desktops and this model comes with a 460W power supply as standard.
To get it at that price you need to use a code and there are other slightly cheaper deals; see DMXDimension for codes and pricing.

Note: The Dell has SATA3 which is essential if you want to get top performance out of most of the generation of SSDs being released around now.
Scan have an EVGA GTX 460 SSC (850MHz) on Today Only at ~£137.

Here's a Direct Link to Dell then upgrade the CPU to the i5-2500 which pushes you above the threshold to be eligible for the £70 off voucher - D5W5STX635BRTT.

There are codes for 5%, 10% and £70 with different thresholds so it takes a bit of juggling to get the best deal depending on what your priorities are.
I managed to get an i5 quad for about £25 less using the 5% code but upgrading the CPU from 2.8 to 3.3 seemed worth the extra money which is why I listed that spec.
Loads of permutations of course.

Added. There’s also an i5-2400 (3.1GHz), 6GB, 1.5TB, HD 5670 for ~£658 (or ~£620 with TCB).
For £55 more you get an extra 2GB RAM, 500GB disk space and a HD 5670 but a slightly slower CPU.

at that spec it still comes in at 650, after the £70 off code, so given the superior graphics.....
im helping a friend find a system as i don't have time to build him one, personally i think the medion, i like the front hot swap bays

I think you upgraded to the wrong CPU as it is definitely £599 delivered or ~£565 after TopCashback.

so given the superior graphics.

If you sell the HD 5450 for £20 you have £115 towards a GPU. Scan have an EVGA GTX 460 SSC (850MHz) on Today Only at ~£137.

So for ~£22 more in total you get a 2nd generation i5 quad core 3.3GHz versus a 1st generation i5 dual core 3.2GHz, a super clocked GTX 460 (850MHz versus 650MHz) and SATA3. Seems worth the hassle of swapping out the VGA card to me. ;)

Or just buy a PS/3? :)

i think that might be a mistake, it also says two sodimm slots which are laptop, this is more likely to have 4 slots and full with 2x2 and 2x1.
