They always harp on about the atom processor being just for web surfing and email but has anybody got one of these and running office 2007 ok? Was thinking af advising my sister to get one as she doesn't use it for video or games

I found the Atom processor too slow when I had a netbook (sold it and replaced it with a better 12" HP). I would advise paying a bit more for a normal desktop PC. Dell and Dell outlet should have some for not much more than £200. A quick 2 minute look and I can see a Vostro™ 220 MT (D012202) at £270 on the Dell site, which will run circles around this.

Too much for one with an Atom 230 in my opinion.

Now it it had a 330, it would be a bargain!

It is perfectly capable of running Office 2007 as less powerful cpus were running Photoshop, Maya DB/2 etc back in the day. The problem is that if you have ever used a computer with a recent Core 2 Duo chip, then you will find the Atom painfully slow by comparison.

For light office work, it may be enough. I wouldn't really want to open a 300+ page document in Word and wait for it to repaginate.

The ION nVidia graphics chip really won't make any difference in Office or most apps, to be perfectly honest. The Revo is best used as a single tasking multimedia device.
