Maybe for the DVD drive, or the low power consumption. Or even just the space saver. Wish they'd up the processors in these things already though.

I had the 3600 Revo for a while - I liked it because it was small in size and used little electricity plus was so quiet I rarely knew if it was actually on or not. Good for running XBMC too. But for me it was a second computer due to the processing power.
Update - forgot to say, if you are into these things, this is a good price = hot from me

I couldn't cite any off-hand, but I've a three year old Acer netbook with a spec not much below this one's, for which I paid £160. I know netbooks are pretty much a dead market now, but there are bound to be systems with a spec comparable to this at around the same price. That, or just buy a budget laptop.

See that's the thing. I have a 2 year old netbook with a N450 atom which was top of the line back then. It sucks. Slow RAM, poor performance. cpu benchmarks online show it to be half the speed of this thing. AND, it stutters with 720p playback as it has no graphics card.
I've been digging around with laptops for ages now thinking as you do that they're smarter to get than a nettop. but i have yet to see a netbook, even today, with as much processing power combined with a dedicated GPU that can seamlessly play 1080 videos, without stuttering, with a small footprint, very low power consumption, and can be nicely tucked away either behind my tv or in a cabinet somewhere to purr away and be a full time xbmc powerhouse.
Isn't it obvious? Most people will want to use it as a media centre, and stick it behind the TV where it is out of sight. A netbook with the same chipset as this will be more expensive, and it will not be whisper quiet like this when viewing 1080p content. Quite frankly, it would put strain on the netbook and it will cause the fans to rev up, and probably won't do it any good in the long run.
This should get hot

That is exaclty why people buy these to use as a media centre, dxx you are completly missing the point as to why people buy these.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it says "Optical Drive: None", so it shouldn't come with DVD drive....?
Yes, but the main reason for getting such a device is playing HD video. The CPU is hardly used when playing video as the GPU handles the processing.
These are currently selling for near £300 on ebay, so if I don't like it, I can potentially get my money back selling it second hand.
I am using a Lenovo N5902 with my revo and I love it.
Had rii keyboard but didn't like , so got a lenovo and it very good.
These are not hide away keyboard but work really well, got it on eBay but make sure you get the latest one because there are more.
Or
If you use XBMC like me, you can always use the app for your smartphone that works very well

No, they're not. There are five completed listings at ebay ranging from £200 to £250 and none of them sold
If anyone knows what my current processor is roughly equivalent to at the moment would be great !
Seems a great price was £23 something more the other day !
Heat Added Thanks
