1.3 processor? Very slow I feel. Have just bought one for the same price with similar specs but faster processor and 500gb harddrive. Sorry - cold from me!

The one on acer direct has an integrated graphics card whereas this has dedicated graphics. Also bear in mind that this is a culv processor and there isn't a big difference between this and a su9300 or su7300. This one has performance roughly comparable to a 1.4ghz core 2 duo which is pretty good considering you can easily get a 7+ hours of battery life...ideal for basic office work if you travel around a lot and can play age of empires 3 on the go as well!

Where do you see SU9300 or SU7300? In any case the SU4100 benches around the same anyways (the SU7300 does have a 3mb cache instead though)

I'm not sure whether I need the dedicated gfx, not like I'm going to game on this anyways right?

Been looking at this, can anyone tell me if its faster than a Asus 1201N ( Atom dual core + Nvidia ION), Thanks

or if theres anything better of the same 13.3" with a dedicated gfx card for 'light' gaming

This is way faster than the Asus 1201N, the comparable Asus model is the UL30 with an SU9300 (not the one that CPW had for 349 last month). This is faster than the SU2300 that was in the CPW deal.

Not sure why the cold votes, I'm sure this will end up being hot soon.

Ahh ok thanks! will defiantly consider this over a ION netbook then :)

@dregnet, Wondering if your going to test it when u get it with some games or Windows experience :P

Video of similar laptop - different CPU (extra 100MHZ and 1MB of cache)

Heya,
I've just recieved my shiney new laptop and I must say, its brilliant.
If you want to ask me any questions about it feel free, I can run some tests and stuff if you like :)

The build quality makes this thing very sturdy, There is little flex in the chassis and screen.
On a full charge I have easily got over 7hours of run time. This includes the typical stuff of setting up your laptop (uninstalling rubbish, installing AV and running scans, Office well everything. Copying 15GB of photos over wireless, downloading windows updates etc...)

I think the nicest bit of this is the charging system. Once the laptop is fully charged the laptop itself prevents rom over charging and the adapter itself switches off too! Normally adapters keeps themselves running hot all the time. But by the morning it turned itself off which was nice.

CUP-Z gives off the followings if you're interested:
Intel Pentium SU4100 @ 1.3GHz 45nm
Core Speed 1298.9MHz Multiplier x6 Bus Speed 199.5MHz FSB 798.1MHz
Chipset Intel GS45
4096MB DDR3 RAM Running as Dual Channel Symmetric Samsung M471B5673EH1-CF8 RAM
DRAM Frequency 399.1MHz
FSB DRAM 1:2
CL: 6 tRCD: 6 tRP: 6 tRAS: 15
Graphics is:
ATI Mobility Radeon HD4330
and Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family 7

Running temperature is around 40 to 55degrees, But on your lap it's actually rather quite cool I can keep this on my lap all day long is needed. Where as other laptops you just have to take a breather.

Sounds great! Could you test it on 3Dmark06, and if you can test it on any games you have..

Thanks!

I voted Hot, Looking at getting a Timeline myself but cant decide what size I want.

May also want to consider the 14" version at Comet
http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/598097/ACER-AS4810TZG
£427.49 using 5OFF code. Same specs but 0.7" bigger and an optical drive built in. Also cashback from Quidco etc and can collect instore.

Oh I've just ran if and honestly I didn't expect a netbook would have performed. Considering that its not aimed towards gaming or anything near it.
End story it said that it failed lol
The result is as follow:

Thanks, I don't see why it should fail, are you sure it was running on the ATI graphics?

If you look here you can see that it still beats the CPU scores of these laptops, http://www.legitreviews.com/images/reviews/1206/3DMark06.jpg

Not sure about the GPU score though :/

Still thanks for testing it for me
