Good price for a bit of a niche product. The acer timeline series generally get good reviews for build quality and features. Seen it in the flesh and it's a handsome looking machine. The slightly strange thing about this model is that the spec has everything you might need to be a great ultra portable e.g. a low voltage ulv dual core cpu that'll play 720p HD with ease, long battery life etc. The problem is, is that it is a bulky 15.6" form factor and relatively heavy at 2.4kg. The SU4100 cpu is fine for every day type applications but not for gamers and heavy computing applications such as HD video editing. Now that core i3 cpu machines have come down in price it is now possible to have both a decent battery life and a computer that is capable of serious computing for not much more than is being asked for this model.

As long as your computing requirements are fairly basic and are aware of its limitations, then it could be a good buy for some.

From what I've heard of the Timeline X series although they have better processors it's at the expense of battery life.

I was about to order a 4810tzg for £370; this has a bigger hard-drive and screen for less money, but is a little bigger to cart about... decisions, decisions?

Dose anything else offer anything like the battery life without paying too much more?
