Decent enough specifications for a brand new complete system :) Thanks edi

Should point out for new buyers that this is a CELERON processor. Read reviews on the web, a 2.66GHz Celeron is about a 1.9GHz Athlon in terms of performance (end of).

Ideal for office applications or just surfing the internet :)

This deal now has Celeron 2.8GHZ processor. Unit also has AGP x8 Graphics card slot. AGP cards can be had for £20+

Thanks for the useful post. I'm looking to buy a PC for my son who is starting University in September. He mostly just wants it for word processing/spreadsheets, but also wants to be able to play games and put his digital camera pics on it. How easy would it be to upgrade the graphics card with this PC? Any suggestions about the graphics card & price, or would it be cheaper in the long run to spend a little more on a different system? Any advice or recommendations much appreciated! Thanks

Well AGP graphics cards are absolutely fine, you can check places like ebuyer.com for prices+reviews eg http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/103128 Decent cards can be bought for £20+, fitting is very easy just power off the PC, make sure you have no static (touch the metal back of the PC to discharge static) take off the cover, fit new card in AGP slot on motherboard, power back up, very straightforward. which would mean this PC would then be a decent basic all rounder for office work and 3d games at medium resolutions. Putting digital pics on would be a breeze.

Very helpful - thanks very much:)

This is an amazing price, say £100 for the tft, £60 for the OS, that leaves less than £140 for the base unit with keyboard, mouse and speakers all thrown in. This actually works out cheaper than building your won, a true bargain. Lets turn up the temperature.

When you go to this deal there is an upgrade offer on the right. This has a faster processor, double the RAM, a 19" monitor instead of the 17" and 160gb hard drive instead of 80gb. This actually looks even better for a £100 more. Is it as good as it looks or is the £299 still a better deal? The upgraded PC is at
