Gets slated here... http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2009/12/03/review_phone_acer_betouch_e101/

I am wondering if anyone still want to use Windows mobile nowadays? Why not go for Android?

If only that were true! If you go to the verdict in the review, it sums up by saying... "There's just no good reason for a phone to be this difficult to use in 2009, no matter how low the asking price"
#5
Buyer be aware on this one! ;-)

excellent price, not sure on the product itself but for the price it seems to be very good:thumbsup:

That's according to Play, but reviews mention no 3G. Hmm...

My HTC uses WM and I have no reason to upgrade, has everything I need and more....... nothing wrong with Windows Mobile if you know where to look.

You say "Why not go for Android?" I say..... " Why go for Android?" :-D

No WiFi = No sale.

Shame. Great price.

Sorry, cold. Not your fault. Play's being misleading. No way is that phone's RRP350, especially considering it's older brother with all the trimmings has an RRP of 340 according to the same site http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/4-/12000135/Acer-neoTouch-S200-Sim-Free-Unlocked-5-0-Megapixel-Mobile-Phone/Product.html

And everywhere is selling this phone for around 180 max, so, shame on Play.

Incidentally, here's a video of its sibling. If the last time you used windows mobile was over a year ago, you WILL be amazed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zeHQQbJW-o

@ro888: Because, to my utter disappointment, Android has failed to make significant advancement in the past year. The default browser on most models still doesn't support flash, the cameras are terrible, there are too many buttons on the face of the devices and too many embedded settings menus. Also, you literally can't close a program on Android. It's a feature, not a bug. And a bloody stupid one at that.

This phone is so cold it'd give ya hand frostbite!

Err.. the iPhone has been around a lot longer and still doesn't have flash. Android will be getting it in the first half of this year apparently. Cameras depend on the hardware, some are better than others. My Motorola Droid has no buttons on the front, it does have 4 touch buttons, but they're sick! I don't know what your complaint about embedded settings menus is - It makes it easier to find things. And you can close programs in Android, you just need to install an application to do it. A bit annoying, I know, but the idea is that people who don't understand tech don't have to worry about it, but those that do, can download an app to close apps.

Whoops, how embarrassing, totally my fault. Not reading the thread properly. Apologies.

@InfernoZeus: Believe me, I'm no iPhone fan, and had high hopes for Android, but I'm just frustrated its progress seems to be crawling along. And I know there are apps to close programs, but I don't agree with their mentality nevertheless. Anyway, I'm glad you're happy with the Droid, as it seems a nice device :) [and the Nexus One was so unresponsive when I first touched it that it made me shudder with rage!]

Talking about Android, Expansys are selling Tattoos for £180 + around 7 delivery if anyone wants to try it out.
Smallish screen, resistive but still quite responsive, can buy interchangeable covers, comes with HTC Sense UI. Overall, it's quite a cute little device.

Adios
