Although it is a first generation i3 but before reading further look what 2 GB RAM and 160 GB Hard Drive... No need to look further specs.

2.4GHz i3 CPU is at least 30-35% faster than p6100 2GHz.
Got that laptop since last Christmas, paid 299 in Sainsburys, reduced from 429. Very powerful i3 CPU comparing to my other core2duo 1.83 GHz it's over twice faster. Not so bad quality for the price, very quiet, I'd even say silent - not overheating during everyday tasks.
Pluses: long-life battery, speed, HDMI, price.
Minus: Build-in speaker, very very quiet :/, build-in GPU - not for gamers.

the ram and hard drive are a bit of a joke to be honest, price difference between a 160gb and 250gb for the manufacture is so so so tiny. Hopefully a 2GB stick so you can stick in another 2GB, although 4GB is cheap enough now a days anyway.

No it isn't. In fact the P6100 is as fast as the i3 1st gen on some benchmarks.
