Vista with 512 Ram is going to be painful!
Vista with 512 Ram is going to be painful!

Agreed, why would they put only 512mb in that PC, very odd.
Well I tried Vista on an old machine with a P4, 512MB RAM and an 80GB HDD. It was fine to be honest, and that was the memory hogging Ultimate version.

This contains the cut down version, Home Basic, so it should be fine.

Maybe, maybe not too bad without the aero glass
It would still be a good price without an operating system. You could add memory or put linux on for little or no money.
For £150 quid can you go wrong?

I say Hot.
For £166 delivered you can get a Vostro 200 with 1 year on-site warranty with a much better spec; they have 6 at this price at the moment:

Vostro 200s E2160 Pentium Dual Core 1.80GHz
English Windows Vista Business
Memory: 1GB MB Dual Channel DDR2 667MHz
Hard Disk Drive: 250GB HD
CD Read-Write Drive: 16X DVD+/-RW

The bonus with Vista Business is that you can downgrade to XP Pro if you like.
512mb with Windows Vista? Ouch
This is a Cracking system for the money. It takes 8gb mem too................bang in 2x 2gb and you have a flyer.

Way better than anything Dell can offer.......

Crucial are firing out memory at low prices at the moment so another 4Gb mem would not break bank. So £149+memory and its not much more than £210 all in. Bargain. :viking:

now down to £139.99
