Pretty certain your one didn't include a blu-ray drive - this one does - and this also includes a seperate discrete graphics processor (no integrated Intel GMA rubbish).

Find a compable machine with this specification for less than £499, I challenge you csiwoman! The Acer you have is good for the money, but this is better, and with cutting edge technology!

Did you even bother to compare the spec or did you just see the word Acer

4GB Ram
250GB HDD
BD Drive
Independent graphics card

I'm willing to bet the performance on this is significantly better than anything for £350

I just logged in to vote this one as hot - I think people must be voting cold without looking at the spec -

I wouldnt waste my time for you pal! Nice insult, wish I'd thought if that. Very droll - NOT! As for cutting edge technology - you need to look up what the latest technology is mate, you're about 6 months behind!

LOL

Yes I ordered one on saturday but i am still waiting for the 3rd e.mail to say that it has been posted.

I was told it was a good spec and a good price by my techie friend :)

i can pick one up from my local currys, they have it in stock, im off up there tonight to collect....

Very nice unit, although I swear Amazon had this for £450 a while back (a dude came in trying to pricematch PCW when they were £600 there...).

The 17" 7720G (admitedly with 3GB of RAM, but still Blu-Ray and a proper GFX card) is also the same price).

EDIT - Amazon's price has gone up again :(

picked mine up yesterday, it was £560 instore, but £499 at the till, £640 in pc world next door.
#17
Curries and PC World have the same prices - the only difference is the fact that the actual paper tickets often get updated later in PC World on TV's than curries and vice-versa with PC's.

URGENT HELP NEEDED!

What do you think is better: sony vaio T5450, VISTA premium, (1.66 GHZ, 667MHZ, 2MB CACHE, 250 gb hd, 17" screen, 3GB RAM and it has NVIDIA® GeForce 8400M GT graphics

NO BLUE RAY

ITS £499

Would you but the sony or the ACER advertised above? (http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/257058/acer-laptop-5920g-pc-world-499)

need some quick advice as the sony is on sale at my local currys, and not many left...

Thanks
#21
The Acer - it's got a better CPU, more RAM and Blu-Ray thrown in...
#22
depends if you would prefer a brand over another, the acer is beter spec and a blu-ray drive and HDMI
#23
just saw this today at comet for £399 as we are getting one of these, the 17 inch vesion is £489 but has less HDD space
#24
The £399 one may well have been the 5920 (which was £379 at PCW at one point), not the 5920G
#25
Sorry can I just add that although good spec it is pretty ugly ;)
