Is it a confirmation of start to process order which I have too, but understand this is much different to them having the item and despatch.

Still hunting for a link which reviews this laptop, has any one found a link for the review of this product.
Stop Scaremongering
Flubster
I'm not scaremongering mate the same thing happened to our Acer. Who cares about the graphics chipset - the company is dodgy and give no technical support to people either. What's to say one with a different graphics chipset won't go wrong either.

errrrrr me!! i wouldnt touch an intel based video chipset if intel were the only people making video memory for laptops!! :x
What you get.. A recycle box.. useful for packaging of selling the old laptop.
The laptop itself, power cables and thats it.
It will take a 20mins before you are up and running from boot as the first task is sit and wait whilst Windows sets up your computer. The good news it starts!
Connectivity wise I can confirm
Left side ports VGA, DVI, x2 USB left side, x2 USB right side, S-Video, volume
Right side x2 USB , Blu-ray drive and Rj45 socket
Front Audio input/output ports
Rear Power socket
First impressions it looks new. Nice bright 17"
Will test the Blu-ray with Casino royale.
Would you like me to take some pictures of ports, and post would anyone appreciate it.

Hi Romi, thanks very much for updating us. Rep added.
Is there no firewire port? Any pictures you can take would be appreciated. Plus feel free to update with further impressions as you use it.
The quality of the screen image is excellent. Played urban terror - picture looks very sharp, The Blu-ray test using Casino Royal is very impressive , high definition quality to a high standard, so can get rid of the PS3 which I intended only to use for Blu ray.
The sound is the best I have heard from a laptop so far, the base from a laptop speakers is impressive.
Noticed the fan start and stop in short burst on the odd occasion. There is also a very tiny dent on the lower right side of screen, not noticeable for the most part, considered negligeble ..unless you are total perfectionist.
16Gb transfer of files from USB pen to laptop seem very quick
Overall quiet operation so far will have to test extensively with graphic intensive games.
Simple connection to the net..entered the Wireless router key ....and thats it your on the net. No configuration what so ever.
If you look at the image of the laptop with specs the wireless standards are 802.11 a/b/g WLAN ....but not n, I am sure I read N standard should be in the spec....
Not a major issue as I have only 802.11 g Wireless router.

The first step when on the net is to get the microsoft updates and security patches (48 in total). This will download in the background whilst you carry on.
The DVI connection is very important to me as I will now get the HDMI converter to allow connection to my Optoma HD65 projector (very impressive piece of PJ kit by the way)
I hope to use a cross over ethernet cable to set up a direct peer to peer network between my old laptop and port over 100gb of movie files.[/COLOR]

This forum does nt seem to have the option attach multiple image files like the Av forums, This forum platform needs to be updated to include the ability to embed video content too and move into the next generation of forum communication. ..and the time is right for the site owners to generously reward peolple who put the effort into posting red hot deals.
