Acer?! /thread

You will be extremely hard pushed to find this for less than £300. Updated android 2.2 from the older 2.1 version too. I just thought it was a good deal if you are looking for an Iphone type but want something different to every **** else!

Any reviews - is this £100 better than a OSF?

The acer has a better processor (probably better graphics as well) and better battery life so it's a better specced phone but it's nearly twice the price.

I had the standard acer liquid (not the e version) and found it much quicker and better then the San fran. However, it was quite chunky, so bear that in mind. For the price though, I still think the San fran is cracking.

It's a 3.5" screen! The OSF crams too much into its compact frame. I would say this could be a San Fran killer when it hits £140.

Don't understand the OSF has a 3.5" screen with the same resolution as this one!!

REally? I remember it being too small. Got a cheapy slate/droid now and it's sorted.

i`ve never heard or seen this site before , is it safe to order from it....!!
#11
very safe. i had a sat nav from them recently. a friend put me on to it. has some cracking stuff from time to time.

Safe as house's, safe as house's. However, I am not chinese. I wouldn't be saying this otherwise.
#13
Im afraid this is cold its pushing to close to comfort to the Samsung Galaxy and HTC Desire's price range both way better handsets and this is a pants Acer phone and after owning there laptops i know its going to be utter pants build wise and if something goes wrong with it Christ help you.

Acer is Taiwanese, not Chinese.

It's actually gotten great reviews.

Take in mind these were reviewed with the £350 pricetag also in mind.

£7.50 Cashback makes this a very nice deal, IMO. Also remember this CPU is underclocked as it is, and, when rooted the phone can go to 1GHz and beyond.

The build was absolutely fine on mine and I never had any issues whatsoever. There is also a pretty good following of the handset on modaco, and the people there are more than willing to help with any rooting etc etc

No.
#19
for me it doesnt justify being £110 more expensive than the orange san francisco, for the sake of a couple of hundred mhz, even then you can overclock the OSF.
#20
May have been a good price a while ago, but there are better deals out there now - haven't voted... ;)

I have the SF and I can see from Youtube videos that this Acer runs far smoother than the SF.
This also has a far better camera. I love my phone, but I miss being able to take good photos. The OSF camera is absolutely useless indoors, truly it's an abomination

seems like a decent enough alternative to osf, heated.
#23
I predict when this comes down to 130-ish it could be the next osf

try the iphone 3g camera, the osf cam is certainly an upgrade for me but still its not great.
