Great price from a trusted UK direct retailer. This phone was only released in July. Was £450, expansys are currently selling this for £370!

This smartphone features a huge 3.8'' touch screen, windows mobile 6.1 pro, 5mp autofocus camera with led flash, full qwerty keyboard, fingerprint reader, a-gps and more!

Cant find the same spec for less!

Available from handtec (link in thread) for £197.73 *retailer gets varied reviews, some very bad - but would stick with a trusted uk retailer for a little extra.

Hantec has varied customer reviews, some very bad! Another google shopping result? Have a quick look around avforums for feedback on those, stick with a trusted uk retailer.

No way, most reviews compare it against that, but that was when it had a price point of £450, now its £200 it cant really be compared fairly to that anymore.

seems like a good phone.

looks nice.

WM6.1 is a very dated OS now. I personally think that for 200 pounds there are better phones available. Android phones are so much better than WM6.1

My 2 year old XDA Orbit 2 had WM6.1, very dated now. Good price for the phone compared to other shops but I would look at other phones rather than this.

wm6.5 is just around the corner and can be easily flashed on most phones

but i suppose with 6.5 on it might be quite nice

Yeh true, upside is the fingerprint reader and it may even take better photos then TP2.

I'm in a dilemma to move over to an android handset but think it the current range aren't good enough but i'm impressed by the os.

There is quite a large community working on the m900, there is allready a 6.5 beta rom out for the device, but acer did say they would release an official update when 6.5 becomes available.

Wouldn't agree with that, I have a HTC Topaz and a G1 at the moment and I actually prefer the WM phone myself but that's really just due to the fact that folk have been cooking ROMs for a lot longer than they have on the android platform.

Out the box for your average user I wouldn't say there is anything to pick between the 2 operating systems, it's only when you really want to start mucking about with the OS that the choice matters.

Just my opinion

I have owned a few wm handsets and I own an xperia X1 and I've tried many custom 6.5 roms

I have had a HTC Hero for a few weeks now and android is sooo much nicer and more stable. Obviously, this is only my opinion.

im an android user and ive brought a htc touch dual whilst waiting for a mic repair on it. The main strength of the G1 is google backing up everything for me, was hesitant before but the fact that my work email account syncs along with my home email and my wifes is amazing.

The downside is the OS is still flaky...Caller ID hasnt worked for about a month and needs either a soft or a hard reset which ive been putting off coz i didnt want to faf about with backing up.....also be aware that it wont read apps direct from an sd card so your memory choice is limited. Still a million times easier than windows or touchflo tho tbh!

The google apps have to be the main selling point on android, well for me anyway. I get around that by using them on opera on my HTC touch pro though. Even though its WM 6.1 and not the most responsive, theres lots of good software to completely change the interface, and lots more software in general. Windows for me for now, watching android very closely though :)
#35
I use both an HTC Touch and a G1. For me the G1 (Android OS) wins hands down. I wouldn't contemplate another WM OS phone.

That's an amazing spec for the price. I've just bought the Grade A model for about £198 all-in including delivery to replace my ageing Vodafone v1615.

I've been running Android on my phone for a while now and although it's a bit of a fudge, it is impressive.
#39
Thanks. Mine is coming tomorrow. It's replacing my ancient HTC SPV C550 running Windows Mobile 3 !!!!

For £200 unlocked this is hot for me. Thanks.

I think this is the phone I've been waiting for. Awesome spec for the sub £200 price tag. Can be had cheaper than the listed link too. Total bargain, soooo much wm software out there, tomtom 7 and I bet someone will port android to it soon enough.

I think this will do me quite well for internet/media on the road, might put it on 3, does anyone know if 3 has a skype app (compatible with it's special service) that runs on wm phones?

I might go a tiny slim phone for voice and basic quick txt and one of those iphone payg sims on o2 for this to keep me connected, or maybe 3 for the skype deal. Any thoughts anyone?
