It cant be found cheaper anywhere else so seems pretty good deal to me. The cold votes will be coming from acer haters or mac fans lol.

Looks ok - maybe the eBay entrepeneurs are about. That's why it's getting cold votes perhaps?

My thoughts exactly

To be honest, I wouldn't buy an Acer again. Had terrible experience with mine. They are noisy, run only with Acer bloatware installed, which slows down the system, they suffer from over-heating problems as well. The new Acer model are also quite large. A 14" notebook is almost as big as a 15" notebook from any other companies.

I don't know what you want to do with your notebook but a 12" screen is such a compromise and unless you need the portability, I would recomment at least 15". If you want portability, a 3hrs battery is not a lot. You get 12" notebooks which last 9 hrs. Perhaps a little bit more money would be well spend if you need this kind of performance.

I won't vote on this one because it is cheap but imo not a good deal.

Second acer here and had no problems with either. Wiped the new one within a few days of getting it and did a clean install using just the needed drivers and no bloatware and it runs like a different pc compared to when it arrived.

Cant fault it.

If you don't install the Acer 'Empower Management' software, you will run into problems eventually. Acer notebooks don't support Windows XP or Linux either. I wonder if Windows 7 will run? Check the notebook forums for Acer problems. You'll find prenty.

No acer empower management here and not installed on my old one. Never had any problems. Same with last 2 of the wifes dell laptops. They run better without all the **** they ship em with.

Vista runs fine here, well as well as vista runs that is lol.

As for xp on em not tried it on this one but my last one came with xp but run vists fine too.

If I had to choose between an acer or a dell I would choose acer every time as I think unless you pay big money you just get a big poorly styled brick from dell with flimsy keyboards.

I like toshiba and hp laptops but for what i use em for it's not worth me paying the extra.

What utter rubbish. My Acer notebook has been stripped of all Acer software. Certainly not running Acer 'Empower Management' .

As far as not supporting XP or Linux, I dual boot both on my Acer.

Some people have a really negative attitude towards Acer, which tends to get perpetuated and exagerated by fanboys in forums. My personal experience with Acer has been excellent. They produce well designed and manufactured, good value notebooks, which generally receive favourable reviews from professionals.

To the OP ignore the fud this is a good deal.
