Is this the Linux, Windows Vista or Windows 7 version? How much RAM does it have? Is it a nationwide offer?
#2
whats the spec of this revo, as that will determine whether its a good deal or not.
#3
do u know the model number of it then.

depending on what revoo this is, then this could be a very hot deal or it could be a very cold deal.

people need a bit more info before voting on this

If you're in Belfast or Cardiff there's one of these left with Vista for £100 ->http://www.makrohotdeals.co.uk/category.php?store_no=none&cat=14
#5
Even if it's the base model. i.e. no OS, it's still hot, since you can't get a nettop any cheaper than this. I have one of these fellas behind my TV running vista and xbmc, and it's just fantastic. I can also use it as a filestore, svn server etc. and it's about the same price as a NAS.
#6
Ok, thanks to Musicrab I can give you a partial spec - it's from Makro clearance, so I would assume it's the same.

Oh and btw the £100 price excludes VAT.

Even if it was the most basic model, can you explain how it could be a 'very cold deal' , please enlighten us with a link to a basic R3600 model cheaper than this.
I have now found a partial spec on Makros site and it is posted above. I can't give you anything else as it doesn't say.

your right, "very cold" was a bit of an exaggeration. but depending on the spec then this could have been a pretty average deal would have been a better comment.

if its that spec, then its a good deal. might be tempted to get a second one for the bedroom

I did notice too that the picture is slightly different on makro's clearance - the one in my original picture has a 'v' shaped stand is the actual one in the flyer, it doesn't show a keyboard, but has a type of 'wii' control stick affair. I'll try to find a pic on the net and update....
EDIT This is the controller...

???
1. The offer hasn't started yet
2. The link which you clicked on above (with 2 left) is NOTHING to do with this deal - it's a seperate clearance offer!
Please take the time to read things before replying with completely incorrect comments.
I am genuinely planning to buy one of these, and despite all the cold votes no one has linked to a cheaper price - if you have found it cheaper, don't be shy post it, it may save us all a few quid! :)

Looks like a good deal. Can't see this product on the Makro site (I know the offer has not started yet) is it something that they will only stock for the deal?
#14
Cold from me as not everyone can walk into a Makro and buy one - you have to join Makro and to do that you need to be a registered business or work for a company recognised by Makro.
#15
too much faffing about to get this to work as a media streamer if that is your intention to buy one. better of getting a mede8er box instead.
#16
cant find it on there website

You can either use Vista straight out the box or install a massive range of alternatives easily (personally I like XBMC). Hardly a major faff to plug in and turn on.
#18
Irrespective of the specs are Makro deals allowed since they are not for the general public, rather trade members? I know some may have a Makro card by association to a business but for those who are not members its a bit of a faff to try and join isnt it?
#19
Looks like everyone wants a moon on a stick without putting in any effort whatsoever.
#20
Smoking Hot!
This would make an excellent Media PC, the inclusion of ION graphics at this price is outstanding.
#21
suppose there getting rid of old stock ready for the new acer revo 3700 due out anytime now
#22
GOOSE I cant buy from Makro not a trader, but where did you see them at £170?
banned#23
Fortunately I still have a makro card from when I had a limited company (anyone remember the £20 cod mw2 deal on launch day?!).
Unfortunately, the majority of the public would not be entitled to one.
This price is indeed hot if you have access to makro, but otherwise it would be irrelevent.
Not voting either way, as this deal is limited in terms of who can benefit from it.

Note this is the single core N270 Atom NOT the dual core N330 which is in some models (3610?) I got mine from ebuyer for 180 with dual core and 250gb but that deal was about 6 months ago so hardly relevent

where did u read this?
#26
edit just read the price will be around £350. Hardly good value in comparison to the R3600 when there is no benefit when using this as a media streamer.
#27
I got a 3610 with Vista Home Premium for £175 a few months ago.

Absolutely phenomenal bit of kit. It gets more use hooked up the TV than our V+ box.

Well, funnily enough both the places that had them are both out of stock now lol!
I just google shopped r3600.

Read the original post again. Carefully this time.

Yes, the deal maybe staring in a future point, but surly they would have stock before hand ;)?
+ look at any of the other products where the sale hasn't started, they still have stock showing in most stores?

So unless you know something us guys don't, im still remaining sceptical of the deal until stock shows like the rest of the products due to go on sale.

Edited By: IlesKevinPC on Oct 04, 2010 15:59: more info :)

you may want to consider this before purchasing the R3600

Like I said before
1. The offer hasn't started yet
2. The link which you clicked on above (with 2 left) is NOTHING to do with this deal - it's a seperate clearance offer!
This deal is available in all stores and Makro does not have a live online stockcheck for regular products, only the special 'clearance section'- I'm presuming you are clicking the link to the clearance, as I said above this is NOTHING to do with the deal I have posted.
As for not being available to everyone, yes that is true, but is that a reason for me not to post it for the people who DO have a card, or have access to one?

So is this definitely on? has it been in the makro mail or something? Should be able to borrow a makro card, but a bit of a trek to get there.
#38
Voted cold because its Makro places like this shouldn't be advertised on here really they always sell less than other places that's a pretty much given. The problem is not everybody can shop there which is a HUGE problem for people looking for the hottest deals.
#39
Interesting this couldn't have been timed better.

Ok just got back from Macro in Bristol. After finding a member of staff with a clue, who was very helpful I managed to get one. There are 4 more in stock though one is a display model. You'll need to ask a member of staff to find one out back as they aren't on the shelves.

It's as spec'd on here : http://www.makrohotdeals.co.uk/category.php?store_no=none&cat=14

It also seems to come with a wireless keyboard and mouse. I've not opened mine yet though to see what's inside.
