#14

This is a great little machine. I got this before November last year for £249 from ebuyer so this is a great price. It came with wireless mouse and keyboard and 64bit Windows 7. Have plugged this to my Panny TV and using it to watch movies and catch up TV like iPlayer. It's dual core so performance is pretty good so thoroughly recommended.

arrghhh just bought this last week oh well only a tenner difference, although ive hardly had it on yet it seemed a little sluggish in media centre

I read a review a while back that these were really poor at playing flash files back, can anyone confirm?
#24
i was planning to get a bufallo 1TB NAS for about £220. would anyone recommend using this as a NAS - by leaving it on all the time? i was thinking in the lines of 6 usb drives - all expandable with cheap usb hard disks + media centre to stream videos to xbox 360 / ps3, etc. obviously it isn't designed to do it - but i would welcome any comments.

Some good reviews for this, how would it fair as a desktop replacement ?
Great price, £10 more from ebuyer.

I'm the same a bit. One of my favourite features of XBMC (Which I'd be sure to put on this) is the ease of ripping DVDs

Yes this was the case, however the newest iteration of Flash player now uses GPU offloading so essentially the ION is being put to use. It now does just fine with flash content (I've watched BBC HD Episodes on mine). However, ION Flash support is only for Windows (not available in Linux).

That's what the link takes me to and there is no full item description of what this is supposed to be?

Hi there

Just wondering if any of you think this would run football manager 2010 well? Only game I want to play on a pc so not wanting to spend too much. Lke the idea of connecting through tv as its small and dont have room for desktop.

Thanks

Nick

It really depends on what you normally do on your desktop machine. If you only use this for surfing the net and editing documents, then this will suffice. if you do anything like video editing or some serious image editing then this machine will struggle and you're better off with something more powerful.

All those complaining about not having an optical drive, why can't you just buy an external USB one?

The revo comes with mounts to attach to the rear of your TV, so hardly accessible for an optical drive anyway!

I like the sound of those mounts :)

I'm one of the ones who wanted an optical drive, if I added an external one, it'd be two devices instead of one, not as neat. This would be for my bedroom you see rather than lounge so couldn't hide another device. Love the idea of mounting to the back of the tv though!

Only if your tv/monitor has vesa 100 mounting holes, and not everyone will want to mount it behind anyway

A bit harsh is it not?

I feel for your poor wife when she gives you petit pois instead of the marrowfats you were expecting! :p

Very true. The vesa mount included with this machine is only vesa 100 which is suitable for your normal computer monitors only. My 32" Panny has Vesa 200 mounting holes so I had to purchase a vesa conversion mount to hang this behind my telly. You can get one for around a tenner from ebay - just do a search on vesa conversion bracket.

I did try to fix the link but i've since discovered all Maplin Deals on this site go to those batteries!
