Absolutely no reason at all for this to have 8GB of RAM but it seems like a decent enough laptop for the money.

I know but this processor actually supports a few more features than those, this has a larger screen, Windows 8, 8GB RAM and 750GB storage so I guess it depends on what you're looking for.

Personally I wouldn't buy anything with integrated graphics but we've been looking for a new machine for my gf recently.
wouldn't the 8gb ram make up for the processor? the processor can't be that bad surely
The processor will be fine for most people.

Hardcore gamers and video/sound designers may want to look elsewhere but the machine will be fine for normal use (internet, streaming video, music, basic games, DVD). 8GB is a bit silly on a machine like this though because few applications usable on this hardware will consume that kind of RAM. Most modern desktop gaming rigs only need 8GB RAM at maximum at the moment.

EDIT: Yes, buy this laptop, sell the 4GB RAM for £20 and enjoy the laptop. These are very cool laptops( you won't have any heat issues).
I've had this model for nearly a year now running photoshop as well as using it for music production and haven't had any real problems with it. Getting use to W8 took a bit of time using the trackpad but with a mouse it's fine. Does anyone know what the maximum ram that I can put in this plus what other processors would fit if I wanted to upgrade the machine?

Thanks in advance.
