Oh my goodness, edi stop finding these deals, I've spent a fortune in the past week!

Shame no built in freeview to round the package off, but i'm just being greedy now!

Good deal!
#3
There's one at comet (I think) that's £220 with built in freeview too... At this price though it's cheaper to buy a separate freeview box :)
#4
better still, buy 3 50 pounds gift vouchers for 150 pounds and you get 15 gift vouchers making it 165, then purchase the tv and you get extra 10 pounds gift voucher on top. better i think.
#5
I don't think you get the free vouchers when you're buying vouchers :/

oh yes you do :-D

£100 + £50 vouchers = £10 + £5 gift vouchers

buy the TV for the £165 in vouchers and get another £10 gift voucher

result... you effectively pay £140 for this tv/dvd :w00t:

pitty about the contrast and brightness being so low

Is there anything similar under £200 with significantly better specs ???

I bought the 269.99 acoustic solutions 26in TV on the argos site the other day.

Worked out at 249.99 after going round twice and buying a 100 worth of vouchers each time and still have another tenner voucher from the actual purchase:) so 239.99 effectively, it's a lot better TV than I thought it was going to be too, no freeview but there isn't any freeview in my area and I have sky so certainly no problem there :)

Very strange product, kind of a tv/pc monitor hybrid but leaning more towards tv. The resolution is similar to a monitors as a tv this size would probably be 1366x768 but the inclusion of a dvd is strange for a monitor.

Personaly I wouldnt spend my money on this as the specs seem very poor. Just my 2ps worth, sorry if you dont agree.

Anyone know what the Proline LCD TV's are like from Comet?

This for my daughters Christmas present, LVD1983WD with DVD & Freeview for £249 built-in any thoughts?

I wouldn't touch anything acoustic solutions again. I had the 26" model, which was hideous, had no vga (big nono) and had a seriously **** picture. I'm much happier with my sammy.
#12
Is this really the widescreen model? The resolution indicates it should be but there is a different model which ends in 'WS' instead of 'C'. Plus can't find any pics of the 'C' - what's the difference I wonder?

Can anyone help?

Bought this in the summer as a bedroom tv, and have been really pleased with it, the picture and sound quality are very very good.

Discontinued model, & if you use as a monitor it isnt "energy star" compliant, that is it wont go to sleep, just goes to a blue raster & says "no signal" As mentioned before more of a TV, fine with Sly.

I'd go for this one...

http://www.microdirect.co.uk/(17500)19-Samsung-SM940MW-LCD-TV-Monitor-Widescreen.aspx

No dvd player, but how cheap are they.....but it does have a 3 year warranty....:)
#18
but that one has no freeview either.
If im not mistaken Ralph7 wanted a built in dvd and freeview...sorry for pointing this out but im looking myself so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

LOL....

Maybe Ralph77, sorry I meen you, should ask mummy for one for xmas....

Everyone here is just trying to help others, and yes the responses might not be perfect, but atleast were giving positive input.
#20
Sorry dogonbike, didnt mean to come across as negative, appreciate the help mate
#21
No worries, hope you find what your after....

Just bear in mind how cheap dvd players and freeview boxes are....

Set that against the price of an lcd and a 3 year warranty....

yes very grown up trying to put me down by implying im a child. inferiority complex?

if someone wants a lcd with dvd, showing them one without the dvd is hardly helping.

most people want lcd's to save space. maybe stick it on the wall out of the way.
having to buy a seperate dvd player is a false economy

Yes, if the most important objective is small footprint, buying a separate box for freeview/dvd is a deal breaker. If this is the case then I would recommend looking at:

Vistron Luna LTV1918QFSILVER 19" LCD TV + Built in DVD Player Silver 1440x900 500:1 400cd/m2 8ms MPEG4 (£192.25 with Google Checkout)

KENMARK 1907 Combined LCD Television 1440x900 700:1 300cd/m2 HDMI Mpeg4 (£184.50 with VIPix Card)

And if you want to try a flyer (misprice):

Daewoo 19" DSL19M1WC LCD TV With Built In DVD Player (£0.00 In Stock)

- Corrected by Play to 259.99

Did this, buying the vouchers first so it's worked out at £150 plus I have a £10 voucher left over which I'm sure will come in handy! Thanks
