Do u no if there is a manufacturer's warranty on the TV? seems to have everthying but that.:?
#2
A warning. I bought a smaller Accoustic Solutions LCD about a year ago. See it working and check for dead pixels before you leave the store. You don't need an aerial to check, just select one of the direct AV inputs and on the dark screen, the dead pixels will stand out like a baboons @rse.

It will save you taking it back later!

I'm sure it does, everything has at least a 1 year manufacturers warranty

If you get the box from Argos over the counter, where are you supposed to plug it into to check the dead pixels (power cable)?

Well they do allow youto open the boxes to items up and have a look before you buy. So you could just ask if they could also plug it in while they have it all unpackaged. Provided there is no insurance issue, which I doubt as they would be testing a product they are selling, then you can see.
I can't see why they would refuse unless they could not find a plug socket, because £299 is quite a sum to turn away for any retailer. :-D

Just found the following forum who are also discussing the deal:
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=717912

Doesn't really answer your specific question but user tomblog says
I have an older model similar to this, it's fantastic. Picture's great.

The following may also be of use:
icture quality depends on what source you are watching from.

If it's from a DVD the quality should be excellent, if you are watching from Freeview it will depend on which channel you are watching as they broadcast with different bit rates (BBC will always be best.. ITV channels tend to be a bit pixelatted)

If you sit to close you will see any imperfections in the picture, I sit about 8 feet away from my 32" Orion LCD TV.

Is this wall mountable?
#13
It is, but the brackets don't come with it.
#14
these things just keep getting cheaper, looking for a 32inch for the bedroom wall, this looks like it would do the job and thats a really good price.

Thanks for this

Just a decision between the 26 and 32 now :-(

Bah having troubles already. When you screw the screws in, it still seems the stand is loose, not sure if it meant to wobble or not...

No, i dont think it does :)
#19
Jus hooked it up to my 360, graphics are awesome. Sound is really nice too.

reserved mine and goin to pick it up tomorrow

Cant even be arsed to look, I've given up with TVs. The two most important elements are always missing followed by a few other good ones.

1. 3yrs onsite warranty
2. Digital Tuner (WTF switch off is coming and they are still pushing this old rubbish - old stock more like)
Oh use a freeview scart, SCART FFS SCART its hdmi now in the future and thats it - everything else will fade. Plus HDMI on freeview is a million times better becasue it picks up less rubbish, its sharper and better colours. Todate there is goodmans hdmi freeview box that is rubbish beyond believe for £50 other than that you need to get a pvr or dvdr with freeview ie like a panny dvdr with freeview for £140 which is fab.

3. Refresh rate, got to be 5ms or under really. 8ms will do if we are being fussy.
4. 2 or more hdmi slots, plus dvi for pc instead of vga would be nice.

What is worse ontop of all this the piccy is normally rubbish with tonnes of back light bleed and people go ooooooo thats sharp and think its great, its like getting a $50 5:1 pc system that gives fakery sound and claiming its full on like a dedicated amp and half tidy speakers. I cant see me getting anything now for the next few months until the retailers release the real products and not this old stored in a dusty loft rubbish.

That my rant over lol

This is as good as the sony and tosh that I have and is more than adequate for my bedroom, at £299 its a steal. Black surround looks better than the silver one,

Hi guys,

Great, this is perfect, just reserved one to collect tomorrow as the hanspree is out of stock everywhere.

Can anyone tell me what size wall bracket this takes, just to go flat on the wall- and even better - the cheapest I can get? Some i've seen in comet are about 80 quid!!?
#24
any chance someone could upload some pics? especially of the connectors?

got one reserved for tomorrow but still trying to decide.

got a good crt at the moment (jvc 28d40) which is connected via component and don't know if this will be better or not.

thanks
#25
Hi everyone. Im seriously looking at buying this tv to hook up my 360 and my ps3 as ive only got my 360 connected to my moniter at the minute via vga and the ps3 on a non hdtv.

It says pc input, i assume this is vga, could anyone let me know the quality of this?

Also notice that it has picture in picture, which is very suprising for a tv this cheap. Anyone able to tell me what this feature is like? Like can you choose to have picture in picture with any of the inputs etc.

Might go buy this tomorrow so would like to know asap!

Cheers

I have seen other web sites talk about this tv and it is ready for Digital
#27
anyone else have any feedback please before I go and collect? thanks.
#28
Trying to arrange to reserve this at the moment, none in Leeds so far and the website keeps booting me out, saying too many users. :x

Still heat added as good deal for those who can get it!

does it do digital? thanks
#31
got mine today. very happy with it. nice picture. not tried the sound as i have an amp but the picture is good and that's what counts for me. bigger than my last tv (28") but seems to take less of the room as the actual box is smaller than the crt. i'm happy (and it was paid for by Christmas money!)
#32
was thinking of going for the 27inch till i saw:

"This product may be substituted with a different branded model which has a slightly lower brightness of 400cd/m2, but superior contrast ratio of 1200:1"

at the bottom of the description!
Sounds dodgy to me!
#33
Got mine last nite!

Fantastic it is, very impressed!

Just a bedroom TV tbh, but looking and sounds good!

Anyone got the Sky remote code yet! :(:( really annoying!

Also when i put the sound through my stereo line in....i use the line out on the back of the telly but the colume for the telly has to be on still for it to come thru the stereo and my stereo has to be turned RIGHT up!!

Quite annoying :(

Anyone help?

Rich

I'd be tempted to pay a little more and take yourself up a level to a Tosh/Hitachi/JVC/LG etc.
#35
got mine last nite, set it up to make sure it works an right in the middle is a bloody dead pixel,on my way to get it changed as its a vry nice telly for the price and has everything(apart from freeview) but im goin to split the cable any way. well recomended
#36
Just need a SKY CODE!!!! ARGHHH!
#37
Mine has a stuck pixel right in the middle of the screen too! Going back (after the new year)
#38
well i spoke with argos, gave me loads of codes that dobn't work...

i have a rev6 sky+remote so have just ordeded a rev8 one off ebay and will try that!
#39
If you have a dead pixel just give it a gentle rub and it will likely disappear never to return.

I bought one for my bedroom and it is excellent for £300, perfect for a bedroom as sound isn't boomy (sound too tinny for a main/lounge TV - would need amp etc). DVD auto negotiates 1080i and picture looks great, can't see any action blur. Don't listen to all the audiophile rubbish spouted about HD. Even Sky HD has very little true HD content. If you want a cheap HD TV for the bedroom with a £50 DVD upscaler this is spot on and will be for the next couple of years.

great TV!! no dead pixels for me!!

heres some pics (halo 3 looks VERY nice on it!!

anyways to the pictures:
