Anyone know the refresh rate?
And is 'Contrast 1,200:1.' sufficient? Thanks :)

I was going to buy one of these until I saw one of these on show at my local argos. It was next to a 32" samsung, there was a visable difference in quality, the main thing being is when there was text on the screens the acoustic solutions text would flicker and break at the edges, im not sure what the technical term for that is, while the samsung remained perfect... it could be a one off but just be wary.

I have the 26" Dual Branded version of this TV in the spare room. I have played both the 360 and the PS3 on it and also had the Sky + hooked up to it as well. Whilst its never going to win any awards, its more than sufficient as a TV or as an HD Source to play the consoles. Of course it doesnt come close to my Panny but when I bought it about a year ago it cost me £219.99 and my Panny was a grand so you get what you pay for.

For the record, if I needed a cheap TV right now I would buy this no problem.

Quite possibly a poor quality/broken cable or source

this make of tv is rubbish i ordered one from argos it arrived at my home at 10 am i instaled it everthing worked great. switched it off to standby turned back on 1pm would not work i phoned helpline did a lot of differant things to see if it would work to no avail they said take back to the shop.when i took back to argos they even tried to rob me of the delivery charge in my refund. when i said i wanted to speak to the manager over the delivery charge they refunded the full amount.bought sony bravia found this better value.

This is my TV!!!! Got it just over a year ago for £299.
Great price now too. Only one fault is that it has a dead pixel but not too bad.
Oh and by the way most of the info is incorrect as it has stuff stated on the box that is different to what argos describes.
eg. mine has 2 hdmi sockets, whereas argos states 1
mine can output full 1080p for some reason too.

So, a single TV proved probably faulty (but was refunded) and you state the 'make is rubbish'.

Not very objective are you? Your comments are of little value to anyone else and are in contrast to all other postings so far.

I think you are confusing 1080p with 1080i. This set has a resolution of x768 so can never show 1080p (only 720p/1080i).

Just bought the 26" version last week in the 'Easter Sale' and I'm more than happy with it. Great TV for the price.

I had the 47" version of this tv under the name Wharfedale as all these tvs are made in Turkey and sold under different brand names.

I had it for 8 months and then got a refund from Argos as the digital tuner stopped working when the new Freeview auto-update was done last year around July. I still used it for a few months after with satellite but the humming noise was like Chinese water torture. Hdmi crashed pc a few times when using the source menu.

The repair company called me to say that you couldn't get spare parts for these tvs hence the refund.

Apart from that I found the on screen menu to be too small and not laid out very well. The vertical placed light front led light seemed odd when the tv was in standby. Newer models are horizontal which is logical.

There is a hidden menu so that you can hide source inputs that are not in use but this function really shouldn't be hidden. Think the code was 4725 once the menu button is pressed.

There was a hole where svhs should have been.

Picture in picture function was useful as I could see who was at the door or check dvd while watching tv.

Bit ugly looking once you see it in the flesh, cheapish plastic. 3yr warranty is good but once it runs out you need to buy another as spare parts can not be got for this tv. Argos will refund you or get you another tv.

I have this TV in the bedroom and for the price you just can't knock it. £240 c'mon its budget, your never gonna get the same results as a panny but these x3 the price.

Can anyone who's got one of these tell me whether it has a vga socket? I realise it's not in the spec, but someone mentioned that the actual connections are different to whats listed.
