I have a 22 inch set from Acoustic Solutions. Got it for about £70 a year ago. It's not the best set in the world, but does the job. For £229, I would pay a little more and get something much much better.

Alot of TV for the money.

Just to add from their description :-

Important information on the purchase of this LCD TV.

This television DOES NOT have a built in digital receiver.
To watch digital channels you will require satellite, cable or a set-top box.

nice price but is it just me or is it proper ugly?

People have different opinions on what makes a hot deal, that's why we have the choice to vote.

I'll refrain from voting because I know little about this television, but if it's acceptable quality then it's a very good price for the size of the TV.

Lack of built in digital receiver is disappointing though, I thought all LCDs this size had something built in.

While the specs may not be impressive, the price certainly is.
Perfect for spare room/kids/etc.
#11
Shockingly Ugly!

But Mega Bargain Price! Disposable at this cost!
#12
Mates got one, he loves it, Im not impressed. I'd prefer to pay extra and get a Samsung or LG (not a fan of Sony due to their appalling won't-honour-the-warranty UK branch)
#13
It's cheap, ugly, limited ports, no freeview.

Ideal for the kids to destroy!

oh yeah. ... HOT
#14
How anyone can vote this cold is beyond me, they must have had cold in the past for putting on 8p netto beans and feel the need for redemption. I need a tv for my xbox, dont plan on watching any channels so this is perfect for me. Thanks H+R

Has it got a samsung screen inside?

You want two for the price of one?

I have the 42" version of this and I've had it for around 3 years. It's OK and the picture is decent if not great.
If you've not had or seen many LCD screens then you'll be impressed with the picture but don't go down to your local Comet's or Currys afterwards to compare because you'll wish you'd spent more.

Having said all that, it's a decent deal at that price.

for size of screen not bad but the brand is rubbish no usb ports only 1 HDMI lol and 2 scart Sockets seems like bad design i saw Sony Bravia 32-Inch Widescreen with all mod cons and 3 years guarantee for extra £80 mite as well thow in the extra for quality 37" be to big for most people anyway
#18
Worst cvompany I have ever dealt with. Dont count on any support or customer service if something goes wrong, takes weeks to sort out returns, In the end ebay had to refund me.
#19
Cant wait till after the world cup. All going to be stupidly cheap!!

I returned a laptop last week - they arranged collection and money in paypal account yesterday so good CS from me.

I need a tv for my son's room - I don't know whether to wait, will they really come down much after world cup, this is pretty cheap!!

it is fugly, i would pay 100-150 extra to not have to look at that beast... its almost uglier than some cathode ray televisions
#22
It's also worth looking for a second hand 37" (e.g. on Gumtree) should be plenty of decent branded 37" lcds (or plasmas) hanging about.

Just another option to consider but this is still a bargain! Good find.

A lot of cheaper LCD TV's use Samsung Panels.

It doesn't mean they're any good though - It's normally panels from several generations ago.

With these cheap LCD's the high definition picture is normally decent (so good for xbox 360/playstation 3) whereas SD picture will be awful really - In my experience anyway.
#24
Ok so what's the next best option for say a 32"?
#25
Without a digital tuner built and most analogue switched off you don't need a tv license if there is no aerial attached to it and no other tvs about in the home. I.e. games consoles, dvd/blu-ray players, pc use only. Its a lot easier to go down this route with a tv without freeview.
#26
Brilliant price, great for a 2nd tele, kids tele or just any tele really, if you don't have to have branded stuff of course Samsung will probably bet better but another £200 dearer, I've got a 37 Technika and my picture is better than most 37's I've seen.
#27
i bought this set when i moved into my house 3 years ago its still goin strong i have it in my bedroom with sky hd and the picture is brilluiant iv a 50" lg in the living room with sky hd not as great a picture for 224 thats damn good kickin myself sein as i just bought a 27" for 199
#28
Good price for a 37" HD TV its just a shame its Acoustic Solutions. Last time I had a Acoustic Solutions TV it lasted about 15 months before it died. When I took it to the repair shop and told the guy it was a Acoustic Solutions TV he just shuck his head in despair. I think he had a skip full of them.

I had the 32" Version of this t.v from argos, and I was well impressed. It cost me £250 and as a student all my mates were equally cool with it. I even sold it on for £200 after 12 months, its still performing well now.
This size should be very capable!

Another mediocre HD ready TV. Fine for a kids bedroom but would never put one in the living room and inflict on the entire family

Can't see how this is fine for a kids bedroom! imo 37" is absolutely crazy for a kids bedroom.

I would say Its perfect for students (as yam_yam says) or maybe a teenagers bedroom who will probably be using it more for games than actual TV broadcasts! (As I've mentioned the high definition picture is probably pretty decent.).

depends my boys have my old 40" Sony on their wall with there 360 and Wii hooked up, all there friends always want to stay over :-), but seriously its not like its a CRT a nice big TV on the Kids wall can be nice for them and to show off to the neighbours.

£225 for a 37" @ 720p, that's a hot deal for me.

For a minute I was tempted to buy 3 of them, but I really want 1080p.

With ATI eyefinity & very soon with Nvidia surround vision, you can have 3 monitors or TVs plugged into your computer for ultra widescreen & big screen gaming, and you can do a bit of work too on the 3 screens if you really need to, 3 screens of spreadsheets, mmmm.

This is what I have in mind only larger:

It's perfect for a kids bedroom as you don't have to worry about them watching past the watershed if it can't pick up a signal

At the moment it's only connected via scart and it's not a good picture. Also the remote is unresponsive

Scart is not a bad picture - but gotta admit - Impressed with hdmi picture... Great value for money

Anyone know where to get a cheap wall bracket now?
