I know these were cheaper a few months ago but in my opinion these still represent excellent value for money as the sound quality is brilliant and so is the build quality!

Thanks johncas, been looking to get one of these.

These were for sale at £24.99 in Argos during December 2006 and January 2007.

Asda sell the exact same ones for £15 , its under the name of Alba though . I bought one of these when Argos where doing them for £22 , great little unit & suprisingly good sounds with flexibility .

Re: Alba version at ASDA for just £15 - I searched ASDA's site but couldn't find anything matching... and no ASDA store near me so don't want to make a trip to a store only to find it's not in stock...

Any chance you could pass on exact details of the Alba unit PJR? Eg. a URL on the asda website would be ideal.
thanks very much

[COLOR=DarkOrchid]I've had this on back in stock notification by text for 4 weeks, and checked Argos in my region but there are none available.:-(

Also been to Asda but asda haven't got any under the Alba name either. :-(

Anyone know where I can get my hands on one???

Yes that's incredibly useful and contructive, they were cheaper 2 months ago but that's no longer available :x

Got one of these at the start of the year and it's excellent. The light on the front is very bright and quite annoying tho

It has four levels of brightness though, inc. off. Which is great cause some radio alarm clocks dont have the option for no light. I can only sleep if the room is completely dark

I have looked in Argos around Glasgow - and can't find one..... and have been looking for a while.

John Lewis do a MUCH nicer Goodmans one for £39.99, bought one from Solihull around Xmas. Seemed better to invest only a tiny amount more for a much better product. Even has a tiny remote control, and pretty good sound quality all things considered!

The Goodmans one is the same the only difference is a slight restyling.

The Alba is not in my local ASDA.

No alba in ASDA 24 near Pudsey in Leeds.... did find ONN version though. Basicaly is a budget brand sold by ASDA.

Oh and it was £49.99 had price checked at the till. It is the same as the Acustic Solutions version (white, remote, etc etc) apart from different logo.

Yes, I would recommend this player having brought two for the house at Christmas. One for kitchen and one for the bedroom :)

Ignore the comment about the display being too bright as you can adjust to 4 different levels. Its a nice white back light so looks pretty cool imo.

Have seen similar players that don't look as good for more than twice the price in Dixons.

Just back from Asda , I found 1 Alba model for £14.99 , next to it was about 30 of this ONN one , priced at £49.99 as you say , they are identical !

Would highly recommend Logik docking alarm available at Currys - 44.99 but some vouchers out there could bring price down. Sound is excellent for small unit and better build than Alba/Goodmans.
