Looks 4:3 to me.
It's also CRT (in case anyone was wondering why it's so cheap).

Still; seems to be a decent Xmas prezzie for a younger kid (before they get too tech-savvy to work out this is junk)! Heat added for this reason alone.

EDIT: Although the 15" LCD with built in DVD seems a better deal (because it's less likely to be junky late 80s / early 90s technology which had no business being £150 in the first place)!
Of course; as it's Argos, they don't have any of the LCD ones in stock (GRRRRRR).

lol.....is that something from a museum?

I like the design, the way they have made it look like a crappy old 14" portable glued to an old DVD/VHS recorder.

I think this is great for people who still have video casettes to play. For kids who don't know anything about anything, one of these could save a fortune if you're the sort of person who's got the patience to get videos from charity shops/car boots/Freecycle. So although it's crap, it's hot from me!

Does this run from mains electricity (or can it run on gas or coal too)?

Don't buy it, all the programmes stop at midnight when they play the national anthem

I agree with all of that, but a price of £45 would be more fitting for such old tat. They didn't even bother to round any corners or make it look slightly less like something that merged together as the result of a small house fire in the 80's.

Surely that has to be a bad Photoshop job?

Hi

This really isnt worth it.

Everyone has a tv, and if they have vcr tapes, they sell vcrs at carboot sales, dvds are now been replaced by blu-ray too.

lcds also take up less space. this should be about £50, as it doesnt have freeview on it either, which is essential, as they are already turning the tv stations off now, and by 2012, all tv signals will be turned off, so this is going to be useless by then.

its really not worth spending £99 on something like this, trust me, go to your local car bootie and buy a vcr, im sure you can get one for £5 these days :)
