I got an adapter - 3 quid on ebay last week

Works fine on my cheap alam clock dock like this...but doesnt work on my Bose Sounddock - but it is series 1 - so these are known to be dodgey on many things now

He's probably talking about the cheap Adaoters which work fine for power but NOT for Audio

Would be looking to get this to replace my current alarm which is pretty loud.

This is 2 x 5 RMS and mine is currently 2 x 2 RMS so presuming this would be a lot louder than my current one?

I dont know what dac and given you " dont believe me" - I guess they cant be had for 3 quid.

I think Hargravegas - prob has it right - but was showing my experience with it- works FOR AUDIO on a cheapish clock radio but doesnt work on mye Bose sounddock I

It was something like this one

I bought the following last year to work with my Sounddock 1 :

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00903LFMU?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00

It's brilliant - can connect all phones/plasma TV/laptop to it wirelessly. And a great sound from the Bose.

Ah good point, in that case you need an additional bit, something like this:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/LAYEN%C2%AE-Bluetooth-Receiver-Solution-Solution-Black/dp/B00E3WSAAS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1419612546&sr=8-1&keywords=B00BM3UCRA

I already had an adapter as I purchased one to allow me to charge my iPhone 3GS in the sounddock many years ago, so I use that with the iSYNC bluetooth receiver.

I have a panasonic GT50 TV which has bluetooth built in, you can even control the soundock volume through the TV.

That has no digital to analog converter which is why it doesn't work on your Bose....
