I don't think you will need to spend anything over £500 for a really good PC and I'm not talking about building it on your own.

Have you got a link please.

Agreed but the above is a gaming PC, and if you want a decent gaming PC prices start at the above and go all the way up to 5k. To give you some context I just bought a gaming graphics card and it cost £600.

Sorry, just saw your comment now. Here's the link - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/381433038773
I was the one who purchased it, except this is green and mine was blue. Think they only had one in stock of the blue, but mine looks so much better, so i guess i was really lucky. By the way, maybe I'm giving it too much credit by saying "really good PC". Most members on HUKD would probably say this is for casual users but the most "demanding" game i play is Left 4 Dead 2 and this handles it with ease, so I'm more than happy. Also, there's no operating system which lets it down big time. You could also purchase this if you want a license key to active Windows. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Windows-7-Home-Premium-64Bit-SP1-1-COA-License-Key-Hologram-DVD-/142207391859?hash=item211c389873:g:2hkAAOSwJ7RYS~r0
At least, i think it will work. I activated it on my old PC then bought a new one and now i can't reactivate it and a pop-up appears once a day asking if i want to activate it. I know you can only use it on one machine though.

By the way, i think i saw this graphics card at CeX in-store the other day for over £600. My eyes have never been that wide open. The lady working there looked at me but i was still in shock https://uk.webuy.com/product.php?sku=SGRANVI1080GTX8GBA
I remember the time when Dawn Of War was all i used to play . Didn't spend hundreds for a graphics card on that i bet. Miss those days. My favourite game of all time.

that's if you want super high end. I would be happy with a radeon rx 480 and do 1080p gaming.

I forgot to warn you - cclcomputers likes messing around with their prices and if you check the purchase history across different products they constantly increase the price. Probably not a very good buy but I'm happy enough with it. They built it extremely well. First time ordering from them and certainly not the last.

Buying used graphics cards can be good, e.g. £150-200 for a GTX 970. Could get 3 for the same price as say a GTX 1080.

I have a 970 I upgraded from that to a 1080 as I run a 2k monitor. I was going to upgrade my system to a similar spec to the above, but with the new Intel processors about to drop Q1 of next year I thought I would invest in a graphics card first and then upgrade everything else next year.

Nope, it was £480.99. Don't know why they increased the price.

Its cheaper to build it yourself but not much(£100 ish at a glance), good price for a pre built if you compare to the one in curry/pc world. but reading reviews, it seems they giving out random component of same spec. for example a 1070 mini/zotac/ or even a blower type. so a bit of a gamble really.

If you spending this much money, its probably better to build it your self or go on one of those website that assemble it for you
