Wow, what a price! Read the conditions carefully. No returns on this.
There must be cheaper student copies from uni - or just use Corel :)

That's awesome! Pet2000 I haven't found cheaper than that and I've been searching for months! Glad I held off till now...Corel isn't a patch on PS mate! 8)

I think this is the cheapest you will find it. However the license terms are very restrictive, you have to send proof that you are in University to get the serial number and it expires when you leave.

Sorry if this sounds dumb and I'm normally pretty OK with computers but I downloaded the 30 day trial of this a few days ago but it won't because all the menus are strangely greyed out.

What am I doing wrong?

Blimey, they want their cake and eat it! Not a very good deal IMHO

It's an OK deal if you are a student and need it, however it would probably be more useful to get the design standard suite for £210. (Amazon).

I'm not sure this is correct - referencing http://www.adobe.com/education/students/studentteacheredition/faq.html

4 interesting quotes:
Is there a time limit on using an Adobe Student and Teacher Edition?
Eligible users who purchase an Adobe Student and Teacher Edition receive a perpetual license that does not have a time restriction.
Can I use my Adobe Student and Teacher Edition software for commercial use?
Yes. You may purchase a Student and Teacher Edition for personal as well as commercial use.
Can a student or teacher continue to use Student and Teacher Edition software after graduation or upon completion of training?
Yes. After graduation or upon completion of training, an individual may continue to use Student and Teacher Edition software.
Can I upgrade my Adobe Student and Teacher Edition software?
Adobe Student and Teacher Edition software can be upgraded to a commercial version when the user is no longer a student or teacher.

I think there must be a mistake in their terms, but I do like them. You'd think that points 2 and 3 make point 4 irrelevant, but maybe that's just me :)

I know it had the restrictions I mentioned when I last looked, but that may have been cs4. It does mention that the versions changed last April. Certainly less restrictive, which is a good thing. I'd suggest what it means is that you can continue to use the current version, but you can't just buy another academic version, howevert you are eligible for the discounted upgrade price for the next version, something which you weren't before.
