Hi
Thanks for posting. I have added an image to your post.
This is a link, made by rayman, which explains how to add images in great detail. It’s worth taking a look at if you are going to post more deals in future : - http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/339941/how-to-post-and-host-images-for-thr/

I haven't paid for much of my software. I paid nothing for my operating system, and nothing at all for my office suite. I pay very little for much of my software as I generally tend to choose open source (Linux, OpenOffice.org, etc).

It's almost as if you're implying that everyone who doesn't pay massive amounts for their software is immoral. Not at all in my case, I just prefer to know there's a choice out there of what to use.
#12
If you use the software for work, it will pay for itself in a few days. Any idea if this can be used to upgrade to CS5, don't really want to drop 2k on that so looking for the cheapest way!

It might be free, but it's not in the same league. I am a fan of Gimp, but I would certainly recommend the casual user to spend £35 on Photoshop Elements.

Thanks, ordered a copy.

They also have version 7 for about £20.

Just a note if anyone was wondering. I have Windows 7 Pro, and I run Photoshop Elements 5 (Yes 5) that came with my scanner, it works perfectly, so the £20 version 7 will be a bargain..Not sure really what version 8 gives, but my version 5 does everything I want

Here is a comparison table

Hmmm yes version 8 gives some interesting features, but I think version 7's offering is quite a bargain :-)

PS thanks for the comparison table

You don't have to pay for software and be a pirate. I have been using MS Office for 3 months not paid a penny... How? MS 2010 free Beta.

How have I been using PS, Illustrator and Flash, as well as 3DSMax... Oh the free 30 day trials. How else will you know it's right for you. Save forking out here £30 for uber basic PS.

I love people who tell us they would never pay for xxx as xxx is free. What is the point of telling us that? We know that xxx is free. People are looking at this because its a great deal for people who want to buy elements 8 :whistling:
#21
Just a quick one on the subject of free photo editting software - also worth checking out Google's excellent Picasa. Perhaps not quite up there with Elements, but worth a look nonetheless. :)

WARNING: this is an oem NOT a retail box as illustrated.
ie. You ll get a CD in a thin DVD case only, no box nor manual.
oem is software bundled freely with new systems, in this case printers or scanners.
In fact is should NOT be resold seperately.

This fact should ve been highlighted by Morgan, rather than displaying a retail photo with no mention whatsoever.

Does it really matter? Is the OEM version still the full version? I would prefer just the CD and licence anyway rather than a big box full of T&C's in a million languages. As long as it is legal then surley its worth paying for??

Not really, but the old retail version had a useful paper manual. I don't know if V 8 does though.

Yup, mine arrived this morning, DVD only, stuffed in a brown envelope. The retail box comes with a getting started booklet, some other leaflets and the DVD is in a hard DVD case.

Little disappointed the description wasn't clearer. The only thing that would have been nice was the hard case for the DVD but I have some spare ones anyway. Still £24 cheaper than buying the full retail from Amazon as long as it installs and works ok!
#27
Having just looked at the DVD it clearly states "Not to be sold separately", Morgan are breaking the law in selling this item it seems.

Adobe would be a bit ****** off I guess...

Hi Yes I can see your point.............. I always thought Morgan Computers was a good company.........would they risk selling this like they are ??
Strange and confused !!
#29
Don't think they are actually breaking the law afaik the eul isn't a legal document, so they are breaking that agreement with adobe
#30
Great price, but after a little research I went with v7 from the same retailer. The consensus was it's not worth paying the extra for v8.
#31
if you want a boxed version version ie NON OEM amazon sell both versions, 7&8

Does the reail version come with a user guide/ getting started booklet? The inbuilt help system just takes you the Adobe site, which is a pain.

I seem to have used my savings on buying a book on how to use it!

Retail comes with a small getting started type booklet. To be honest the web help and online resources are far more useful. Plenty of free resources...

Are there any 'definitive' guide sites I should be looking at?

I have just opened my envelope from Morgan's and was surprised to see it was OEM "Not to be sold separately" and no sign of a Product Key.
I am not terribly bothered about the lack of big box, leaflets and had DVD case. I am in favour of reducing packaging waste.
I haven't tried to install yet, but don't these need a key / serial or something?

My key was on the flap of the envelope- on the back.

Doh. I'll get my coat. Trying to do too many things at once. They are definitely taking the minimalist approach!
THANKS.
