Shame it is only MAC (although graphics and Macs go hand in hand) as I have a PC
But this is stonking value
#2
Excellent deal - but still much more than the same thing in the student edition, for those who have kids etc.
#3
Good price for the software. If you can get the educational edition you can get the full Design Premium Creative Suite for a little more than this... which is also bargain.

Cue the torrent hounds

:S I doubt they'll go through with it if it's mispriced, didn't send out the ipod touch that was selling for £10 :(

Not any more.
Not much difference these days, except the price between a PC and Mac of similar specs.
#6
super duper hot

So is this a better version than the one amazon sell for £537.84 - Adobe Photoshop CS4 (Mac)?? Also in the description it also says "Higher performance on very large images when using Windows Vista 64-bit" so is this vista also....? If so then an absolute stonker of a deal
#8
are you sure this is right? is it the exact same as this?

I very much doubt it:

#10
Misprice would be £26.79
banned#11

Don't think it is a misprice, I bought the same version direct from Adobe store for the same price earlier this year but it was a very brief promo offer the usual price is over £500! If you are a business user this is a bargain and a good way to get a full licence.
#15
Well there are ones going on ebay for about £400......seems like a bargain or a misprice!
#16
Seems like a hell of a lot of money to me 0_o

It is, but it's also a hell of a lot less than you would normally pay. Hot from me.
#18
I'm guessing that someone has got their prices for the upgrade and full versions mixed up.

Why the hell would this be any better on a mac than a PC

Are you kidding, most design companies will be running macs.

Speak for yourself - I run this from a 2gb stick [portable but the complete prog] and there's a lesson for Adobe here - overprice your product and workarounds will be found, try realistic pricing and a lot more people will do it the legit way!:whistling:
#23
Gone for this - thanks!
#25
Fantastic price but the student deal does seem much better.
#26
Full version is for design professionals (ie businesses), student version is for, well, students. For those that use Photoshop professionally (and would potentially get in very serious trouble for using an illegal/unsuitable version) this seems a good price!

It is overpriced in comparison to the US, but not necessarily intrinsically. The people who actually need this get paid pretty damn well enough for the cost of this and the hardware it runs on to be a trivial matter. As mentioned by dcx_badass, there is a consumer version priced accordingly that still does more than the average home dabbler will ever need.

Even if Adobe priced this at £100, people would still pirate because free > £0.01 as far as they are concerned.

That eBay link for £100 looks well dodgy if you check the selling history - a massive four items since 2008, and the seller has a "production team". Most of the others on offer are over £400, except for the academic kits.

Bargain if you use mac.

Paying hundreds of pounds for software, and people vote it Hot! Use the old version till version 5 comes out then buy version 4 really cheap. If you HAVE to have the newest software buy it from Ebay for a lot less. I note that windows versions are alot cheaper. Why oh why would anyone be stupid enough to buy an Apple product is beyond me.

BUY a Windows PC and get cheap software from millions of vendors. Upgrade your equipment from billions of suppliers. If something goes wrong, the bloke down the road will be able to fix it. If you want to share info or data with anyone, they have compatible systems.

BUY an Apple Mac and buy expensive software from APPLE. Upgrades: Not available, but you can ditch it and buy the NEW MAC. If something goes wrong, send it to the USA to APPLE for repair, costing loads of dosh. If you want to share info or data with anyone....oh dear!

What on earth are you drivelling on about!

Professional software, in this instance Adobe products are expensive whether it's for a PC or a Mac.

Of course upgrades are available for Apple software.

Send it back to the USA for repair! You really have no idea what you're talking about. The optical drive just went on my iMac after almost a years use. It was repaired at an authorised service centre (these are located across the length and breadth of the country) about 15 miles away.

Yeah but you live in California!

(that was a joke by the way!)

I have a PC and a MAC, best of both worlds, however the PC is currently gathering dust.

I got my macbook cd drive fixed under their 3 year warranty (the warranty I picked up cheap off ebay), took it in to the apple store in B'ham and it was fixed the next day, they even fixed the arm rest area as their was a hairline crack!

Best service out there imo.

Although if you don't have a service centre near you, it could be quite a hassle!

about the deal, I use CS3 and haven't used it to the full so can't see why I would need to upgrade for a few extra tools.

If you are in for genuine software though, this is a very good deal.
#35
This is a phenomenal price! Adobe products are overpriced, but they are also great products. I wouldn't and couldn't pay the list price for this software - but at this price it's hard to resist. Mac vs PC debate has nothing to do with this deal, so no point in wasting time on it.
#36
£953.35 at the Adobe store. Wow. :w00t:
#37
this is a crazy price indeed. how can they afford it? I wonder if CS5 is coming very soon????

this is almost 3 times cheaper!!!!!!!!

must be a catch?
#38
Unless you work professionally in creative media , then you are just deluding yourself if you think you need this software. My advice, download a free copy, realize after a couple of months that you hardly use it and move on.

Absolutely right. However, on the same vein, unless you work professionally in the creative media, you are just being an idiot if you are voting this deal cold just because you can't figure out the paying £500-1000 for some piece of quality software that make a professional more productive is actually good value for money.

Didn't vote either way. Phew, I could so easily have been an idiot.
