That's a very very good price, I think this is the first ever release though? I'm on 1.2 and I think theres an newer version coming out, but still at £125 this is brilliant, if you go down the legal route.

If you are a student or teacher, you can get Lighroom v.2 for £92.82 from the Adobe Education Store: https://store2.adobe.com/cfusion/store/html/index.cfm?event=displayProduct&categoryOID=1862688&store=OLS-EDU-UK

I already use Photoshop Elements 6.0 - would it be worth getting Lightroom as well?

v2 has been out a while, you can upgrade from v1 to v2 for about £95 which makes it slightly cheaper than buying v2 outright (assuming you don't get any edu discounts)

It depends how much photography you do, it's great as part of your workflow.

Photoshop and Lightroom are completely different. You could do nearly all the things you can do in Lightroom in Photoshop, but lightroom makes is easy and clear to do so and see the results.

More a photography tool.

As has already been said, they are pretty much different.
You'd likely take pics - upload into lightroom, do you're tweaking there, levels etc, and then from there you can export to photoshop if you want to do more stuff.

I find that if you have photoshop, unless you are a professional photographer with masses of pictures, you don't need Lightroom. Lightroom is what Aero is for Vista, it's pretty. It does make some tasks easier but IMO this doesn't warrant the extra money.

Can see where your coming from. It is a lot easier to use lightroom though, but yeah you can do everything you can do in lightroom, in photoshop.

Great option for the photographer though who only wants to develop and enchance their photos though.
