Err, if you want to pay twice as much for gargantuan cans, which are a little bass heavy for my ears, and make me look like a wannabe DJ (which I don't). For some people the beats are great, for others, they're not.

BritishDragon
Cold. Get some beats. They're the best and worth every single penny. They're not overpriced in the slightest and all the pro DJ's use them! You will look great on the high street and everyone will think you're cool as foook.

Was your sarcasm detector turned off?

I concur with the above.

Now I'm going to insert skewers into my brain for some nice pain relief

Yup - you get a choice of 3 sizes of the silicon tips, and two pairs of foam ones as well. I used to have a pair of Sony canal earphones, which used to get quite uncomfortable after an hour or so - no such issues with these ones so far :).

Uncomfortable.

You can usually get one of the foam or one of the rubber inserts to fit comfortably.
The sound is amazing from Shure and they block out all extenal noise - great for public transport

Ahh, Monster Energy on the other hand seem to know a hell of a lot more about Fanny Wangs.

It is obviously opinion, I'm not going to put 'in my opinion' before every statement am I? But carry on with your ad hominem if you must.

I'm basing my opinion on having heard both and numerous reviews :)

Surely for my statement to qualify as ad hominem I would have to be attacking or detracting from your claims. If you read back over my entire contribution to this thread all I have established is that I like my headphones. But continue to use generic latin phrases to sound clever if you must ;)

If you're going to blow an ludicrous amount of money on headphones why wouldn't you just buy beats? Or if you are adverse to buying beats, headphones that don't look like Smart Price beats?

Because Beats are complete and utter s***e. These, even with the ridiculous name and clearly ripped off design sound better than the more expensive Beats equivilent. A £30 pair of Panasonics do too, and my £100 Beyers destroy them.

machofairy
Anyone paying over £30 for a pair of headphones need their head (and ears) examined. If style is that important, get a pair of $9 "Dre" headphones from dealextreme and replace the ear phones with a pair of decent ones.

Anyone who says that has never heard a properly decent pair of headphones.

yeah but they do make me look pretty cool

Not to anybody that knows anything about headphones :p

Opinion narrated as fact. I love HUKD X)

I would take that 'out of stock' with a pinch of salt. Two of the three items I ordered yesterday were also OOS and I have just received them. Fedex didn't ask for a signature oO
Quidco still hasn't tracked. First time in years that hasn't happened before delivery.

Mmmm Nice :)

Sorry about that must have got the wrong product. I was sure they were doing a replacement for the E7 but must have misread. Thanks for the correction guys.

Ahh the E17. Looks a little way off being released. truth is there is usually always something better around the corner. Will probably go for the E7 as it would suit my needs.
I have just ordered the E7 + E9 combo from Advanced MP3 Players for that exact price. I think this is actually through them or someone is price matching them. AMP3 is a great company btw, even better costomer services than Amazon if thats possible.

This is something I had though about buying as there is usb host kernals for my HTC Desire so it should hook up with it (you need a special USB Cable). However they do have a new E10 version coming out which is meant to improve on the sound, but it will almost certainly cost more.

the E10 isn't portable - it doesn't have a battery.
It may be possible to power it directly from the phone, but it would eat through your battery in no time.

It's USB powered so you can take it with your laptop.

Talk about paying for the name !!!
I have several Sennheisser, and they're a tiny fractional percentage of this price, and do me fine.

Why pay for Sennheisers when you can get some from the pound shop that sound....something a bit like what you're trying to listen to?! :p
Try tapping the cable on the cheaper ones - as if you were running. You will here the sound in your ear.
With Shure you only here the music.

Have a pair of Shure's and find the fit to be far from ideal! I know this is a personal thing, but seems a few people on the Amazon reviews have said the same. I found that the thicker cables made these completely useless for the gym or jogging, etc.

That said, when you get a decent fit and they don't fall out for 5 minutes, they sound terrific! I did find you could buy some additional adapters from Shure so might give these a try:
http://www.themp3company.co.uk/product/shure-earphones-shure-se-triple-flange-sleeves-ea3061-pair.php
Potentially over £40 cheaper than Play. Thought it might get a little hotter! Oh well.
I bought some cheaper Brainwavz ProAlpha's instead as I don't quite have this kinda money to spend on earphones. Some do though :)
