these always look good value but the reviews aint great and the battery life always get a mention as being very very poor.

maybe ok for house use but that defeats the object really.
#2
Well thats a brilliant deal IMO. Voted HOT.

although I have just ordered one, I would'nt say it's a fantastic deal but reasonable. last one of the i got a few weeks back was 30 quid cheaper.

thinking of ordering one... anyone confirm there's nothing that comes close to it performance wise for the price? is it 12 month guarantee?

I dont think there is currently - there will be at some point, but thats always the case really.

As its from PCW, cant imagine it will have less than 12 month warranty.

Bear in mind that you have 7 days to return under DSR if you dont like it anyway.

Just checked, "includes standard manufacturers warranty" - which would imply a minimum 12 month warranty.

Meant to say my quidco has been validated too so laptop should be costing a total of £221.30 :)

Have to see about insuring it now, just in case someone drops their drink on it lol

you have to email them to arrange return ,you cannot take back to store with card as its a refurb item they are in process of advising of this on the web to clarify posistion but no problem returning this way ,i just bought a 17" tosh refurb which i wanted to return as the price dropped by 20 the day after i bought i returned to shop who issued 20 refund to cover the price drop so happy with service laptop was as good new also

Is Currys instore returns policy different from PCW I wonder? If so it'd be better to order it from them. I bought a 17" dual core Advent refurb a couple of months back for under £250 from Currys. Great value and it seemed to be absolutely brand new.

Been looking for a cheap dual core laptop for a while. This deal is hot for me. Just ordered. Thanks

If i was in the market for a laptop i would hold out for the fresh wave of Dell deals. Mine was a brand new Vostro 1510 with Core2Duo processor, 2gb ram, 160gb. Also does around 3 hours battery life.

Well worth the extra £30.

OK well mine arrived today, 20 mins later it is set up and I am writing this :)

It looks as good as new, obviously the box isn't the original but I have everything I need! There are 2 dead pixels, but pretty inconspicuous really, I doubt I will bother to return it unless any other issues arise.

Really pleased with it so far, hope it stays the same, can't believe I have it for so little cash HAPPY DAYS!!

Thanks very much to op for finding :D

Good stuff!!!

im going to order one as soon as i get paid

Got mine earlier today, looks like new just 1 dead picel not noticable with black& white advent background .
overall a nice lappie.

In reply to cluffy, I also bought a advent 9212 this week which is also a 12" screen and i think on same chassis as one u asking about. Gonna check it out more in a few.. I would avoid it has terrible fan noise and from reading up on them so far seems to have bad heat probs as well
#23
Just checked and these have now gone up to £259.99 before discounts :( Still not a bad price though!
#24
I just got mine and its had a dead pixel too. I think maybe this was a "faulty batch", hence sold as refurbs. Dont mind it too much, as its still a good deal. I got a feeling that the ones on sale now at £260 may be better and maybe not have dead pixels, hence the price rise.

Mine arrived in perfect condition with no dead pixels and looking brand spanking new.

It also came with a trial version of Microsoft office installed.

Is everyones a trial version or has anyone got a full version?
