Reviews. Weak point seems to be the battery, other than that reasonable spec.

Looks good, graphics any good or standard rubbish?

Looks a good deal to me.

Anyone know how good these refurbished laptops are? Assume they are returns that have been put right??

Looking at the ADVENT 6441 Refurbished Laptop - slightly dearer at £329.99 (before any discounts) but has a 4GB memory, 17" screen and a Blue Ray drive... but 160Gb memory instead of 250Gb.

Anyone recommend this, or is the one in the deal a better buy?

Apart from the blu ray this laptop has better specs then the one your talking about more memory and also allows you to connect to TV so thats why i tought it was hot for the price only let down is its an advent but i dont care about the name!!!

Good price but this site reckons that its only 1280x800 res on the screen which is too low for me. I expect this is the norm in this price range?

This uses the 8400M chip which is known to have a much higher rate of failure than normal so I'd avoid as it's only got a twelve month warranty.

ok deal. nothing spectacular!

which one would you choose if you had to

this deal http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/425460/acer-5920-notebook-with-core-2-duo-/ (i know its expired but just for the sake of it)

or this advent?

am i the only one who would just never, never buy an advent or an e-machine?

laptops, by their very nature, need to be able to put up with an amount of abuse and whenever i've seen them they just look and feel too cheap.

save the extra and get a tosh or an HP...or even an old reconditioned dell latitude!

vote very cold as this graphic card has serious overheating issues, hence refurbished. The heatsink will cause MB to 'melt' and issues obviously thereafter:whistling:

Advents and Barge poles come to mind:whistling:

Loving the apple desktop pattern on it in the picture too:thumbsup:
