maybe useful as a desktop replacement but a big 17"screen and poor battery life limits portability really.

good price though if its what your looking for:)

Warranty? Quidco?

All our refurbished PC’s and Laptops come with a full 12 month warranty

Note that Advent are a Dixons only brand (Currys / PC world also maybe) so you have no idea how they compare with other brands in the "real world".

Advent have had a very poor reliability record in the past.
#12
cold votes again with no comments, where's ya balls?

Even if the battery life is ****, it is a half decent PC with a 17" screen which would go nicely anywhere in the house for streaming/downloading/browsing.

I can think of so many uses even if it had to be plugged in 100% of the time which is making me want to hit buy

If the bad reviews start to come in thick and fast I can always cancel it.:whistling:
This might sound like a silly question.... here goes. I presume a power supply lead is included?

Can anyone else give their opinions on this deal please.
Don't forget QUIDCO!!!!!

£218.49 delivered for a laptop featuring a dual core CPU, DVD Rewriter, OS, good size hard disk and a 12 months warranty from DSGi.
I purchased this 4 months ago for the father in law (and I thought £260 was reasonable). Came in a brown box with Laptop (can only be described as brand new), PSU and a single A4 Techguys flyer. Battery is a little lame, plastics are of a cheap appearance, but for surfing the net (wire free) whilst on the sofa it is a great buy. Voted hot

And yes John, the mains leads should be included.

I got mine today, a few minor marks on the lid and a non removable hairline scratch on the glossy screen (Which was quite marked out of the box but I used my cleaning solution which made it look as good as new)

Think I can live with it for £200 as I'm sure the next owner won't notice as I'm a picky ****** when it comes to screens etc! :-D
#31
i got a 1.6ghz core 2 duo with 2gb ram and a 15" screen for £203 delivered and quidco tracked at £7ish

got it today and it seems quite good, although it has got 1 stuck pixel

i might send it back but the stuck pixel doesnt really bother me

Was on't phone to tech support (free number I got off the net) Johnny ain't paying for support!!
It would not boot up in safe mode or BIOS mode!!

I'm sending mine back, as I don't like the fact I've got a small scratch on the screen (Regardless of if I can see it or not) and also the lid has 2 quite long scratch lines (Mine just came in a plastic bag, no actual plastic coverings over the laptop or screen itself).

Dixons seem happy enough for me to do this which is strange for them!
