Can you turn off the LEDs on this or are they always on?

I have this keyboard and its not that great. The keys dont have a very nice feel to them when pressed and the LED's have started to flicker after only 3 months!

I got one of these sevral months back (also at this price)
Very nice keyboard as I wanted a quieter one than my saitek eclipse.

Yes, you can switch off the lights on this keyboard.
You can also choose the colour of the lights, red, blue or green. Also you can choose the intensity in about 8 steps of brightness.
The keys are like laptop keys though if you're not keen on these types of keys!
In addition to choosing the one colour you can also set it so with every key press it changes colour or brightness level.

The only problem I have is that the num lock (caps and scroll lock too) are pretty bright (blue only). Overall a very good keyboard for the money especially as I wanted a relatively quiet and lit keyboard. Still not 100% keen on the layout as I keep hitting wrong keys (but I still use it for gaming - bfbc2!)

I can get pics if needed.

Same ass the above, I've had this for a while, very happy with everything besides the very very bright num/scroll/caps lights.

I love the layout too, but then I've always used small keyboards instead of full sized ones.

I bought one of these as I just needed a USB keyboard and this one was on special offer. It is v adjustable light wise - far more so than the much more expensive g15 gaming keyboard - but the action is very rubbery and the keyboard itself is very compact and the keys too close together for my taste. I wouldn't recommend it for serious typing myself. Though I do like the way it is fully self contained and no special drivers are needed - you just plug it in, and all the adjustments can be made through the keyboard itself.

The bit where it says "connects via a USB cable" kind of gives it away.

is this with a blue or white backlight? :)

I have had the same keyboard for several months now I'd go along with mith's verdict - but would also agree with Noghar point about the slightly rubbery, laptop-like feel to the keys and their action. I'd add that the auxiliary keys (Home, End, Page Up Page Down) are slightly oddly placed above the numeric keypad - takes a little getting used to particularly if you do a lot of typing on a standard keyboard at (say) work.

Nonetheless it's a very good price for an illuminated keyboard, particularly with the PC World voucher. Heat added.

good deal, would have snapped it up if they had it in the full size keyboard. Does anyone know if they do the larger version?

The code only works on the PCWorld website. you put it in the promotional code box on the final page where you type in your card details
#24
Thanks for that.
I guess this code was only available for home delivery.
I want to collect in store, and there doesn't seem to be anywhere to enter it.
Also the home delivery section is now not available.
Doh.

The blue (no choice) NUM,CAPS and SCROLL are BLINDINGLY bright... but I took out the screws on the rear and inserted a piece of paper on top of the 3 leds ! Now usable without a welding mask ! lol

And YES, you can turn the illumination off...

Also... how the hell do you associate an action to the custom keys ? I use "Search Everything" as my search tool, and when I press the SEARCH button, I get the error "THERE IS NO PROGRAM ASSOCIATED WITH THIS ACTION..." !

Thanks

good keyboard, excellent for use in low light situations of course; similar minor gripe re occasionally hitting the wrong keys but otherwise it's great for the very very low price although I don't think it's available anymore

problem on Macs re @ and " keys? solution is below
