is the larger one a keyring as well?

I dont think it is, as there are others like it, not mentioning the keyring part :(

Shame as my local only had one lol, so I can only get it for my GF, would have been a perfect xmas filler!

the big one is a little large for a keyring but has a little loop on it like mobile phones so could be connected to one of those chain things

Mine doesn't work either. Don't think it's compatible with Vista!
#23

#24
Just got mine and it works fine, will store up to about 74 pictures resolution is ok for such a tiny screen, and the software that comes on the disk resizes your photos too. Nice.

Don't blumm1n allow reservations then!!!! No stock at the other stores now either!!! (there was yesterday!)

GRRRRR...a snotty email has been sent to Curry's complaints! :x
#31
I made it into Brighton before they told me they'd been trying to ring to say the three I'd reserved were 'not in stock' - how come I could reserve them online then!!!
#32
Some body called me last night from currys and I suddenly asked haven't you got it. Then they change the story and promised to give 1.8' item for the same price. Today I went to collect it from Wimbleden Priory lane. No whisper they haven't got it. I ever never try these currys deals.

Heres a brief rundown on the keyring and the 1.8" 'un...

The keyring one will hold 72 photos and the bigger one, 22 photos. I suspect they are converted by the software to it's own format, thats why it's a set number of photos rather than being varibale based on file size. Also, even though it says 8mb on the pacakgeing, it's actually 2mb, which is still irrelevant as it's a fixed number of photos anyway.

It does work on Vista - but you MUST use it's own software, dont expect to drag and drop photos onto a virtual drive - even though the drive does appear, you can't access it via explorer.

The larger screen version is a little annoying (to say the least), if you want it on a desk in front of you, standng up - the 2 LED lgihts protrude at the bottom, making it difficult to balance it upright... you could turn it over, but then the advent logo would be upside down - or you could just ha\ve it landscape instead. The software will let you rotate the image and select the area you want to transfer.

The screen quality on both is actually suprisingly good, for what it is - and I was amazed to see that the slideshow include 4 or 5 different transiction effects - wipes, disolves, etc, etc...
An added bonus, is that they all use a mini-usb cable, which is compatible with lots of other hardware - such as ps3 joypads - handy for charging, as I can't find mine! The cable is quite short, though.

The keyring comes with a keyfob - which is actually suprisingly good - better than the metal ring I was expecting, and a silver neck chain.... can't really see who'd want it around their neck though, unless you want to go clubbing and have your phone number constantly displayed on it. I was thinking that it might be a good idea to have the first photo on the keyring, your telephone number with a message "IF I'M LOST, RING nnnnn" - so if you lose your keys, theres a chance of getting them back.

Anyway, I brought 8 of the keyrings, for xmas presents, which i'll pre-load with pics of the kids...

I never even got a phone call from the Derby branch!! I turned up this morning to collect it only to be immediately told that they had none as soon as she looked at my printout. Apparently they looked for them "before Xmas" as "the computer" said they had them in stock but they couldn't find them. But it seems that no one had the sense to update "the computer" so they were still taking reservations.

I also went to collect my 'Disney Jam Stand' (from a different thread) and was also told they had none of those in stock. But whilst waiting to see the manager (I was very angry!) I found a stash of them on display not more than 5 yards from the counter!!!

So the "reserve" and collect system is a sham as they hadn't "reserved" anything for me at all. And their stock control is appalling as well.

Will never trust them again.
