There are plenty of other threads describing this. What I would say is that if you're looking for an entry-level tablet and can handle updating a ROM, then this is almost certainly the one you're after.

The Chinese are better offerings ... 4.0 already ported, Market already ported, higher PPI...this seems like a terrible tablet ... skipping it.

So give some examples, and prices. Your comment is worthless without proper comparisons. For what you get this is good value.

Used a £5 ebay voucher and got for £112.97 last time.

Screen was unresponsive and viewing angle poor. The return was free though. Good seller but I would recommend getting the single core Ainol ELF which has the same resolution but fits in your pocket, not your backpack.

But then the screen size is about the same as my phone. This is a full size tablet but does have a poor viewing angle but if you are using it in front of you (as one would expect) the display is perfect.

I'm running the HoneyIce ROM on mine, halfway between Honeycomb (Vegacomb) and Ice cream sandwich. You can get it free HERE

I found this ROM, coupled with the 2.5.4.162 version of Skype, from HERE, was the only way to get Skype to work with video, though others have had success with different combinations.

If you have a Currys clearance store near you, like in Manchester, these are £99

I bought this on a previous deal but sent it back due to the viewing angle being absolutely DIRE. I know people warned me about the viewing angle but when I got it it turned out to be a lot worse than I'd even imagined.

It's that bad that unless you hold the device in the air 100% vertically in front of you the images will be clouded grey. Attempting to watch videos was even worse an experience than web browsing. You can forget about trying to view it on a flat desktop surface in front of you.

Honestly avoid it like the plague. The savings are just not worth the hassle!

    Ainova 7" tablet is with a 4.0. but then it is a 7" compare to a 10"

thats a mistake it should read The 512MB internal flash memory of the Vega is expandable by a microSD card slot, and to that end you'll find a 4GB card conveniently supplied.

These are good tablet for the price. Both myself and my wife have one each, although I'm selling mine as I have just bought a Xoom.
The viewing angles are not good on them at all. But as I always sit in front of mine it has never been an issue for me.
The only issue that I have found is that they were not made with 1GB of RAM. The spec is otherwise ok for what I would want it for but when you have a homebrew ICS or HC installed they can struggle with the lack of memory compared to a 1GB device.
When it runs a Froyo ROM (like Corvus with SP1 and the HC theme) this tablet performs really well. But if you have been used to the aesthetics of the HC or ICS ROM then running a Froyo ROM is a little lacking, but functional.
Heat added as it is still a good tablet for the price and screen size. If you insist on sitting at some oblique type angles to the tablet then it is not for you.

This was my first tablet, and was fun to cut my teeth on, I had VegaComb installed, but the deal breaker is the bad screen. . . . Nice tablet, **** screen, couldn't wait to sell it on. .

Next I got a HP Touchpad, these can be picked up for cheap and are a marvellous Pad. Really good build quality, and the screen is superb. WebOS isn't fully blessed with Apps, but all the major ones are there. . . BUT, there is an Android ICS available that transforms it into a superb Tablet, dual boots into WebOS or Android 4.0.

I sold it but only because I treated myself to the new iPad 3rd generation, which is awesome. I still miss the Touchpad. . .

I was considering the JXD 7600 which is a 7" 1.5GHz Android 4 that runs Ice Cream Sandwich, has 512Mb RAM and 8Gb flash, micro SD, 3G ready, wifi and more. It's available at various 'deal' places not permitted on HUKD for just £88 but can't find any reviews yet.

Anyone took a chance and can comment?

I got one of these running standard 2.2 froyo. Can't get YouTube to work. Any ideas?

The YouTube is fine and shows all vids, then select one, shows the play button but when pressing play the vid area ONLY. Goes black no volume no vid.

Just to reconfirm, the £99 is for a refurbished unit right?
