been a long time waiting for this, now its available. Doesnt appear to be available instore as yet, i called my local PCworld and Dixons who sai they didnt have it yet. i personally dont think stock will last till xmas given the amount of people waiting for this all over the interweb!

it looks like the best value tablet around, and will be able to take the new android "gingerbread" verion for full access to the appstore when its released in the new year.

UPDATE - order through the CURRIES website (same group) and use code 10POUND to get £10 off, free delivery as well. I cant change the URL i originally entered from Dixons to curries, i dont know if a mod can.

so cut-n-past this URL here

All out of stock now :(

This has been one of the most hotly tipped gadgets for a fair few months now, and with a relatively small first batch (15,000 I read on here) this was always going to be a case of "blink, and you miss it".

The main difference is the processor, the Vega has the new Tegra 2 chip. Also the Arcos is a 7" screen where the Vega is 10.1".

I've just done some research DevilMan. I see there is a new model coming out next year that will include 3G connectivity. My question is, will I be able to stick my O2 sim card into this and use it? Thanks in advance.

Next years model mentioned here: http://www.electricpig.co.uk/2010/11/01/ipad-vs-toshiba-folio-100-vs-advent-vega/

There's a sim slot, but there is no 3G modem - well there's no mention of one at least. Guess that was maybe pushing the boundaries of bang for buck a little too much :p

Are you referring to this current model? I meant for the 'next' model ie the one coming next year.

Sorry yes, I was referring to the current model :)

3G option would be nice, but it's not a deal breaker for me as I'll be using this at home and WiFi enabled areas anyway.

Thanks. If you 'tethered' this to a phone would the data download be that much greater? What I mean is, would it highlight that the phone is being tethered due to a massive amount of data being used? I would only be checking news, facebook etc so not streaming massive amounts of data anyway. If I wanted to use it for streaming movies/tv then I'd be looking at Wifi anyway.

Get an unlocked 3 mifi and a giffgaff sim card with unlimited data - you dont need 3G then!

Yes, but the 3 mifi needs to be unlocked - there are lots of unlocked mifi's on eBay.

I've just received a call from Dixons to confirm my order because it was my first order with them (security thing they now do) He said to keep an eye out for an email but he doesn't think they are going to be despatched tonight ..... so looks like Monday now :(

Bet it arrives on Tuesday when I'm not home :( grrrrrr
