Best Price for this wonderful kit.
Currys/PC world are still £200.

I picked up mine from Glasgow Airport, but was told there is enough stock at most London Airport Shops.

I agree, £500-600 for a tablet is a laugh
#6
Its a steal for this, using my one now!
#7
Typing this on my Vega...

Don't forget Modaco ROM for full market access and LauncherPro to make it a really nice tab'

Finally becoming reasonable! A tablet and a laptop are mobile computers used for web browsing etc, which means they are comparable. A tablet does less than a laptop, so therefore it should cost less than a laptop. Simple logic unless you accept marketing!

HOT!

is wasn't all that fussed about the vega but at this price it hot hot hot!

hopefully the modders will get honeycomb on the thing

#12
Scorching hot! Hope they have stock till first week of may... Excellent device for the price!

Forgive my ignorance but do you have to be travelling to get to use the stores or can anyone go down to the airport and pick one up
#14
Where do you see the prices in the site ?

Most (all?) of the shops are after security so you would need a boarding pass to reach them.

They don't list price on the Website, but you can check the pricing by calling the number listed by the poster above to confirm airport instore price.

There was Samsung Galasy Tab (3g+wifi version) reduced from £399 to £333 and
Motorola xoom reduced to £444 (32GB Wifi model).

Both xoom and vega uses the same processor (Tegra 2), I admit the screen on xoom is higher resolution and hence sharper as well as running latest 3.0 Honeycomb, but at almost 2.5 times the price makes this a scorching hot deal.

I was considering buying it in currys or pc world for £200 but when I saw at airport for only £166, I had to buy it on the spot.

Good deal. Saw one in Curry in store, but not too impressed by the screen. You get what you paid for I supposed. Personally eyeing the Asus transformer with keyboard. Looks like a possible laptop replacement. Anti-Apple so don't get me started on the other one.

#23
I was tempted when the prices started to fall but had a look at one instore & thought the viewing angles were terrible - both horizontally & vertically. Have ordered the 7" Kogan tablet for £96 instead.
#24
hmm - I can book a cheap ryanir flight for £6 and go and pick one up from the airport and not fly - but will i be able to get back out if ive gone through security

Considered this one myself!! (Ryanair charges for using your card as well so it wont be just £6 :( ) Anybody have any experience with this? I might just ask security when Im going through in a couple weeks.
#27
mmm im flying next week so I've reserved one, apparently its 181 not 166, but still ok..

With going through airport and coming straightbackup.. yes in theory, the flight will leave without you (go hand luggage only).. and simply go out, say something like, forgotten something outside.. no one will be non the wiser... I've had to do it a couple of times for reasons like give keys back to wife etc. but never bought something airside and returned it...

Not necessarily, but for 70 quid less and a screen size I prefer I'm willing to take a chance :-)
