This is a good idea - with the built in TV-tuner. It could be very handy for some :)
#2
Does it have scart socket???? I need to plug in for sky proggies:)
#3
Doesn't say whether it has a digital TV tuner?
#4
Did anybody buy this ? Is so can you advise if it has any AV inputs ? Thanks.

I saw one of these in PC World. It is the 19" widescreen monitor with a TV tuner on the VESA mount.

The TV tuner has an infared remote receive which sticks up above the top of the monitor. On one side it has an RF input and DC power input. On the bottom it has two D sub connectors (presumably PC graphics pass through) and on the other side it has three RCA (yellow/red/white presumably video, left/right stereo audio) and two smaller 2.5mm/3.5 mm connectors (presumably PC sounds pass through).
The monitor had power (240V three pin PC power connector) and D-sub for graphics. I didn't notice audio input... but it must have had one.

The PC was hooked straight into the monitors D-sub, so the rest of this is guess work.

It would make sense that you wire up the tuner to the monitor with D-Sub and audio cables. Then you have three choices:-
1. Analog TV input via the RF. Possible via a VCR.
2. DVD or Digital box via the RCAs.
3. PC via the D-sub on the tuner/audio on the tuner.

Forgot to mention, the TV tuner itself had a VESA mount so the whole thing could still be wall mounted.
Also it will take two power sockets, since the monitor and tuner are powered independantly.

Thanks holdaway. It has composite RCA inputs which is better than nothing, just a pity it does not have s-video, component or scart to feed a decent freeview/sky output.

i dont think u can get one with scart

This isn't really a deal, its been this price for a long time now. I was looking around a while ago for a new monitor with tv tuner built in and went for the Samsung 19" widescreen which i got from Currys (listed as £350) for £258 inc delivery on specified day, using vouchers on the site. The advent isnt a bad monitor has pretty much the same functions, just looks ugly with that horrible handle sticking out the top.

I bought a 15" Tv that can be used as a monitor for my daughter from Currys, she has freeview & dvd as well as pc plugged in. I paid £131 was listed as £149 but by ising 10% code and quidco reduced price

The Acoustic Solutions ASTV-3619WS 19" Widescreen for £199 from Argos has Scart, 1336 x 800 res.

Was hoping for a greater choice :)

Umm, i was refering to a computer monitor with scart. Which is what i thought you were asking for.

The ASTV-3619WS is a TV that supports PC input. The PC picture quality wont be anywhere near that of a true monitor!

Also its £229 now?

You should be able to pick up an RCA->Scart block for a quid or so - I've got about 5 of the things, useful for consoles and media players which use RCA outputs.

Don't you need the opposite though ? Scart > RCA

And you then lose the ability to run consoles and Sky box at RGB and so lose quite a lot of quality.

I bought my GF one for her birthday back in march...

lovely screen , she also has her ps2 hooked up to it.

it looks great playing Day of Defeat Source widescreen.

Ive been told its the same panel as the 19 ich Acer widescreen.

Fair point gary_rip. I do want a PC with AV and not a TV with PC input.

The only scart enabled montior I can identify is the Samsung 940MW, although I'vev no need for the tv tuner, just want the AV inputs.
