This was in Tesco clearance on the back of the electrical aisle, they had 4 left in Ilkeston Tesco Extra but we took a punt on one.
Not disappointed, come back and made a cappuccino and it tasted beautiful (yes I did the ace ventura method to spell beautiful).
In store only I believe. Capsules are less popular than nespresso ones but I've tried them before and wasn't keen on the taste.

Not heard of them, do you use them with this machine? Thanks.

Great machine and frother, would recommend to anyone, had mine a year or so. Lavazza only do coffee pods for their machines (I. e. no hot chocolate etc) but different roasts with a variety of flavours, and the milk is lovely and frothy if you use blue top milk (not so good with semi skimmed)

voted hot but this is a store specific clearance so not much chance of getting hold of another one.

If you don't want to make your own ( oO ), Sainsbury's are doing the modo mio pods for £3 right now.

So are John Lewis. Machines currently discounted also.

Got this from a previous HUKD deal. Awful coffee, limited range, and then it started leaking water. Frother was a nice gadget (induction spinner) but our £1 IKEA frother and 5 seconds in microwave works well enough.

this is not a coffee machine, this an awful pod machine, crappy coffee, expensive and terrible for the environment. buy a real coffee machine even a French press. do yourself a favour

Has at least 10 different coffee options and I think almost all are very good. The milk jug is great, options for froth, micro-foam or just hot milk. This is a bargain and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

The pods cost around 25p each so compare well to others on price, for my money, they far are better in terms of quality.

Surprised to see comments saying the coffee is 'awful', not a single person has ever told me that after tasting and I use one of these in work for convenience which means lots of different drinkers. At this price, hardly a great risk to try for yourself.

Why does this link to John Lewis?

Do you have a barcode or product code for this?

This is not a coffee machine like Tassimo, Dolce Gusto, etc.
It is an Espresso machine.
I have found other coffee machines to make very poor coffee and awful milk.
This espresso machine makes excellent espresso in my opinion. The pods have genuine ground coffee in them and the milk is obviously fresh as you use your own fresh milk. I'm not sure if other brand coffee machine's pods actually have ground coffee as they taste more like instant coffee.

The only way to beat this machine is to buy an espresso machine and ground your own coffee. But if you want the convenience of pods, then this is the best "pod coffee" I've found!

B&M have 2 varieties of pods for £2.99. Unfortunately not the Decaf ones though.
I haven't tasted better decaf coffee than these, even at coffee shops.

ah nope, this website is about being frugal. coffee pods are extremely expensive per serve, they "give away" the machine and then hit you on the pods. this is the biggest con since printer ink. The coffee in terms of quality is often mediocre, it is more expensive and therefore a bad deal.

I have a real coffee machine but unfortunately don't have the time to faf about so after having my other machine for 2 years I was used less than 10 times. I've used this more than that since I posted it here.

You need to compare like things to see if it's a good. These pods are usually sold for £3 for 16, making it <19p/cup. Other machine pods are usually more expensive and taste terrible IMO.
A brand new Ferrari for £25,000 would be a great deal but not as frugal as 2nd hand peugeot 107 for £8,000. Still makes the Ferrari an exceptionally good deal. That's why I look for deals on hotukDEALS.com and not frugalbuys.com

Out of curiosity I googled frugalbuys.com and there isn't an actual site called that. Then tried it as .co.uk and it exist! oO

Same here. Well I probably have time, but just want a quick fix of quality espresso and this machine does it well. I agree about the environmental impact and hope I can soon put them in with the recycling, but cost really isn't much more, especially if you use electric grinder and the costs involved in cleaning grinder and machine after use.

No it isn’t it’s great tasting coffee and I just bought pods that work out at 18.6p each.

£3 for 16, okay 19p per shot, these are 5gm of coffee per shot... you are paying £3.80 per 100gm, Lavazza qualita rossa, 100gm, sometimes found as low as £1 and £2 per pack in your local supermarket generally. as for the faff and all, switch the coffee machine, put the coffee in to your liking, press button, voila coffee.

but yeah I guess I'm a snob.

and by the way, it's not a question of being right/wrong, I just think people need to start looking at it a bit more in detail like you do a lease deal on a car or how you go about with printers we have all been done by these companies. a hot deal for me means long term benefit, I drive 2 coffee per day and this would rapidly become a burden in my humble budget.

But you were the one saying that anyone who's buys this is wrong? Everyone's entitled to an opinion so maybe yours should have been 'I don't like this coffee, I prefer fresh ground'
Not, 'this is not a coffee machine, this an awful pod machine, crappy coffee, expensive and terrible for the environment'.

This is the best pod coffee in the market. The lavazza brand. Stop comparing it to fresh ground coffee. Apples and bananas. It is perfect for on the go coffee. Not sure about the generic pods haven't tried them. Can get 10 pods for £4 on special

I agree with the positive comments above.

The Lavazza pods taste great vs others (and I've swapped between cafetiere, stove top and others over time) and the machines are well made.

The pods are not necessarily easy to pick up vs the Nespresso mass market ones, but keeping an eye out for B&M, John Lewis or other deals keeps the costs down - just stock up.

Have some heat!

To be honest I end up spending more money when I'm on this site :)

Did not mean for this to turn into a coffee war. Look, whatever comes out of my current machine, let's call it mud, I prefer over what came out of the Lavazza machine. Your taste may vary.
