Aerobed dual zone double camping bed £64.99

I've been eying up the non dual zone version of this for a while, and went to purchase this morning, only to find it had gone up to £99. After cursing and swearing, I had another look at the dual zone…

Seems to have expired? Although there is Platinum with "Support zones" for £64.99 which looks pretty good.. Some digging reveals the AeroBed Active Double Camping Air Bed at £67.99 at:

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3401802.htm

Neither of these quite as good as the original offer though..
So you can still get a decent night, even if your partners side has a slow puncture
The only problem is the batteries in the pumps only last about 2-3 years and they're difficult to get at (Li-Ion cells) I need to replace the batteries in mine ready for the festival season. :)

They get voted cold because monkeys buy the cheap felted blue ones for about £5 then wonder why they get a slow puncture after one use and you wake up on a half inflated lilo! I went through about 3 of them before I gave up contributing to land fill. :)

Can't comment on this as I have the "Extreme" made of tarpaulin and it's lasted me years.
Don't know why these get voted cold we have a different model aerobed and it is great.

Note that the 5 years warranty is for the pump, and 1 year for the mattress, not a bad price for king size. I'm after a single.
We have used a King sized Aerobed (ours has headboard which also inflates) and it is now sitting in it's own bag at the bottom of a wardrobe. Easy to inflate and deflate and really comfortable to sleep on - can speak from experience! Leaves the spare room free for use as a dressing room, sewing room, holiday packing room, etc etc.

It seems expensive. I could get a real bed for this money.

Yes, you could get a cheap real bed for this money, but it will take a lot of space. You can deflate this one after the guestst are gone and fit it in a suitcase in the cupboard. This is what we are doing. This bed is very handy if you don't have a spare guestroom.

Tesco do something similar with a plug-in pump for £18.48 (free delivery to store)

Don't doubt that, but I have other inflatable beds and they are just that, these aerobeds are far more comfortable and can be used for longer, you get what you pay for.

No you don't. I had a premier raised double. The first one punctured itself because of a design flaw in the "whoosh valve", the second one would not stay inflated for a nigh They ran out of the premier so I got a platinum for my next replacement, that one and the subsequent platinum both failed to hold air. My final replacement was another premier and the thing worked perfectly for about 6 months. Unfortunately, one the seams on the side of the bed appears to have been pushed out and the glue has failed, resulting in a puncture that is impossible to repair. This final failure happened 3 years and 1 month after buying the initial air bed. Up to that point coleman, aerobed's parent company, had been good with replacements. The warranty for the premier was 3 years so they refused to repair it, I had to threaten to sue them because the latest bed (luckily in this respect) had a fault that was very easy to demonstrate was due to substandard equipment.

I am sure that people will say that it is impossible for this many beds to fail for one person so I must have been doing something wrong. I wasn't, they were used on carpet, the ones that leaked were not punctured, I didn't over-fill them and they were stored at room temperature. I would never buy an aerobed again. I do not get embarrassed easily but when you can hear your house guests having to use the pump at 4am to refill the air bed, it is pretty bad, especially when it is your parents visiting you in your first house. I eventually got a refund but it is fair to say that I will not be recommending aerobed products.

Fair enough, I can only go by my experience and so far obviously been lucky with our double aerobed which kids mistreat each time we go on hols. I wouldnt buy these at full price but for under £40, much rather one of these then the alternatives. I think the double we bought 5 yrs ago cost under £50 as it was also on special offer. Anything inflatable is potentially more fragile anyway so you can't expect it to last a lifetime, whatever they say. This comes with 2 yr guarantee only because suitable for camping etc.

Having read a review on Aerobeds I now see the difference (individual pockets to just a sack of air) and have to agree.

Great Thanks got one, so cheap Im fed up with the cheap thin beds that fail so quick
Does anyone have the double or KS version of this? If so, if two people are sleeping on it, do they end up huddled up in the middle of the bed? or do these airbeds have pockets/chambers to stop this from happening?
Got one of the raised doubles in our spare room. It's really good!. Most people don't even realise it's an air bed.
I use one in my rented place instead of a regular bed. I find you need something padded - bed topper, another duvet - between you and the bed otherwise it can feel a bit cold
These are brilliant - just ordered one - thanks!

*Expired* Please ignore this as it has unexpectedly expired! You won't find this price anywhere else. It's a fantastic bed and it's unlike any other inflatable bed. It feels like a 'normal' bed

You are right! It wasn't like that yesterday. They have changed the info on the site. I have marked it as expired. Thank you for noticing.

Aerobed have half price sales on different items in their range every so often. I got a Platinum Raised Double for half price £99.00 a few weeks ago. Keep going back to the site to check. The deals generally expire on a Sunday if I remember correctly.

Just gone to have a look at one via the link and they are £250.

All the Platinum Raised models inflate and deflate via the remote handset. They are very reliable and they come with a 5 year guarantee.
Aerobed beds are VERY good. We have a couple of doubles that we use for guest beds and camping. Expensive, but worth it to get a good nights sleep.

I assume that the pump is mains not battery operated. Is that right?

It is mains.

The Platinum raised beds that are half priced are perhaps actually meant for indoor use, ie spare bedrooms etc... Although I know many people are using for camping because lots of campsites have electrical hookups. We have bought one for camping. This is quite popular with campers because it feels so much like a normal bed.

I got an Aerobed Raised Comfort King size Inflatable Mattress for £49.50 from tesco direct and its a great bed.

There are other ranges like 'Premier' and 'Classic' and I think some people are getting confused with models. That offer was for a different model. The offer I am referring to is the best range they have - the 'Platinum'. *apart from the Platinum that includes a headboard but that is much more expensive.
