do they do these offers regularly?
quite fancy going but impossible until July/August time at the earliest...

thanks.

Yep I paid £460 at the Flamingo Beach hotel in August, which is 4.5 shields, the best out of all. Great holiday, food, and beer! Don't travel much really, but I will never forget this experience, especially the safari to Tsavo East where I did get to see Lions on the second day. I recommend anyone going to go to Masai Mara though. If anybody wants pictures, please PM me, you won't be disappointed!

This is a fantastic hotel.

The african's are beyond poor remenber its a third world country ONE bar of soap last's a month for a family of 6.. they dnt av toothpaste pens, pencils our basic's wat we take for granted, So if ur going please take these with you... I swaped most of my clothes shoes etc for wooden arts..

I paid the same price last year,, Reason its so cheap
Its the main RAINY season april to june
Rainstorms don’t tend to last for very long, and no sooner has the rain stopped, the sun will come out again immediately lol we stayed in the pool playing water polo etc lol

If ur looking for adventure fantastic beaches, and Want to see the BIG 5 animals
this is the holiday for you... Please egnore the reviews go see for yourself I did and would rate it as my number 1 holiday...
Safari is about £100 pp depends on where u go...

Hope this helps.. anyone wanting more info pictures please pm me...
If we didn't have you young children I'd jump at this holiday, I can see for the reviews that the hotel is very basic but for the price your paying what would you expect.

I've always wanted to go on safari and this would be the cheapest way of doing it, rather than paying 2-3k for a designer holiday

HOT DEAL!

Place looks like a s**t hole !!! ......save yer money ...visit a zoo !!!:p
I am a kenyan and its not all bad it depends on where you go. So dont generalise!!!!!!!!!!!!
i returned from kenya in october and travelled asc- not the best company- staff haven't been paid regularly for ages! jabs and malaria tablets cost us about £130.00 each- but that was for the top end malaria tabs that have less side effects! kenya's beautiful and despite asc not being the best travel company- this is a great deal- wish i had some holiday due, i'd book in a heartbeat!

Do you know is Rainy Season.... although that said Kenya experiening a Drought... Kenya Visa Charges has dropped in price... you can get it on arrival ... do not forget Malaria precausionts ... even if you on the coast .... otherwise a brilliant deal:thumbsup:heat and rep added! I am an Africa specialist so any questions give me a shout !

Malaria precautions are even more important on the coast than inland....
skdotcom;7307729
Some charge, some don't. I've just had vaccinations for Thailand and didnt pay. whereas when I went to kenya I did have to pay (about £40 from memory).

As for the previous post about tablets, that night cover maleria, but you need jabs for yellow fever and the rest.

We went to Kenya in November and had to pay £50 each for yellow fever vaccinations (note that this is not considered effective until 10 days after the jab) and another £20 ish each for malaria tablets (and that was the cheapest option) to take over 6/7 weeks. There was another version that you can take just before you go for about £50 each (Lariam I think?!?

Have you ever been to Africa you CRETIN , do you know how much £1 is to a person in Africa :x

Tip £1 at Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner and you will be told its to much.

I would have booked this but we are off to Ghana in the new year.

Never read to much into TripAdviser when it comes to places like Africa and what we call the THIRD WORLD, 2 & 3 stars are like 50 stars compared to what the locals have.

It always amazes me what people expect for their money.

Carry a clicker. Tell us all how many times you get mugged.

We went to Mombasa last November for two weeks and stayed a very nice hotel but did not book through ASC. For any families thinking of going there on holiday I would advise you not to take children below the age of about 7 as they won't really be getting the most out of it (Safari) and would be just as happy going to somewhere closer without the health risks.

Despite being a relatively 'safe' African country, Kenya is still desperately poor as sadly most of the money from decades of tourism has passed through the country rather than been invested there. As such you'll be pestered continuously to buy trinkets and spend a lot of time repeating yourself to each and every seller that no you don't need another woodcarving as you attempt to stroll along the (picturesque) Indian Ocean beach. The sellers compete with one another intensely and it tends to keep quite a lot of the punters within the confines of the hotels leaving an even higher ratio of sellers to potential customers. It's not really practical to actually relax on the beach as you won't have a moments peace and you hope that they'd respect you'd like to spend some time with your family or enjoy some peace alone but it's not really a choice they have. The beach sellers outside our resort actually stood on the beach all day staring into the resort and calling to people to come over and it felt very intrusive like you were being stalked. not very relaxing.

I wouldn't advise someone not to go to Kenya/Mombasa as there are many worthwhile things to do and see but be informed that you are going to a poor part of the world and realise that it won't be the same as a European style beach holiday.
For this price it's excellent value. I have used African Safari Club and whilst their shield rating system is not like the star rating for hotels, a trip to Kenya where the wildlife, people and country are such an experience, is well worth it. Just do not expect too much. If I could I would be on that flight!
Read the reviews on this company before booking. You have been warned!!!
Can't really see that picture for the deal. Can you post a larger version???!!!
Bloody Hell. Scorching for the 2nd October depature.

Also the 16th of October from Manchester for £401 ain't too shabby.

i have done one of these three years ago.

Though i would not recommend to anybody, i did enjoy it

all off these boats (and you get to look at them internally due to the way they moor them) are of similar style

i was struck with a bad stomach, and quite a few other also had the same condition, so be wary (more servere than a spainsh type)

the trips were all enjoyable, but this is the heart of egypt, and is not like sharm (i.e. dont expect tourist type enviroment) (be ready for lots of security and lots of guns)

if anybody does do this, the balloon trip is a must
lukewarm -
have done this cruise before -
thoroughly enjoyed it - despite how i look in my pics (i was in full moody late-years-teenager mode then lol)

However, my trip didn't include visit to Cairo and the Great Pyramids - and neither does this.

not been back since, slightly disppointed that i didn't do the Great Pyramids at the same time. :(

just something for ppl to consider anyways...
Think we paid around 250.00 pp for 4 of us at the start of the summer holidays... this seems expensive
philz55;6196813
No Vote.
I would advise anyone considering this to Google the company.

Ditto. Trip Advisor is another good place to check.
I assume all flights are London based.

Crap reviews but at that price can you really go wrong? Even if you just use the hotels as a base.

Go on grin and bare it.

What other holiday companies that do Kenya are recommended?

Thanks,

J
Came back from this holiday package yesterday. Stayed at Flamingo Beach Hotel, and I wouldn't listen to anybody on this forum! The hotel was top, and food was good. For what I paid, I will never complain and will go back next year if this deal is back! I didn't have any injections, took the risk, however Malaria spreads mainly around the Summer season from November onwards. Its true that the staff ain't been paid for 7 months, which is pretty bad. Overall, i loved the holiday, and i love the country and people.
Wow, the reviews of this company are awful; really awful.
Personally, I would pay a little extra and go with a reputable organisation.
Africa is smelly

Hey, catching Malaria in Kenya is surely better than catching crabs in Blackpool

I don't think so, Malaria is a serious illness, although I'd say many have caught both in Malindi! :whistling:

You say you researched them but no link or such.
I was thinking of trying them for my holiday in November and would be grateful if you could direct me to the reviews etc .

I saw the old one in 2006 but cannot find anything else...

Thanksss
Check out reviews for the company never mind the hotel. I nearly booked t go to Mombassa with them until i researched them. Not reccommended.
I have emailed them and if they are misleading I will apologise and strike them off my xmas list.
showing as not available now, even though price is listed on site, so deal needs to be amended etc.
Terrorists ?? ... We live in a high terrorist alert country ourselves without the sunshine and scenery. . :whistling:

As for the accommodation .. did you read its £399 with transfers ??

You could upgrade to a higher graded one but I for one am after a cheap holiday as I am feeling the crunch and its not on my Abs :o

I'd check trip advisor before rushing into this regarding ASC hotels in Africa.

Thought this wa s great deal myself but when you read some of the reviews of African Safari Club you realise you get what you pay for.....

I've been with African Safari, and also Discover Egypt...
Hardly any difference, except for a huge saving in price!

If you really want a luxury cruise then you pay a luxury price....
Some of these boats charge well over a grand for the same trip...

£250.....You can't even get a return flight for that amount!!

Some people are really difficult to please...LOL.:whistling:

really good trip i did it a few years ago, the nile scenery and the excursions were top notch, great price
Do a search on this company they have recently had lots of bad press in Africa. I have done the Nile and it is a great experience but do not expect european 4/5* on the boats.
On our trip all excursions were free but the guides did ASK for £35 per head as a tip.
"Two best tips are, make sure you get atleast a middle deck cabin!!! you don't want to be sleeping with the crew!"

I don't know, we had a tasty Egyptology guide on our boat...
I have been on ile cruises 3 times.

Two best tips are, make sure you get atleast a middle deck cabin!!! you don't want to be sleeping with the crew!

2. As alreadys tated do as much research as possible on the boat, you will staying on it for a week and it will make a big difference, just the level of quality on the boat in general from people's past opinions will give you a good idea of wha tthe food is going to be like on the boat, which can vary greatly.

Shalkamy cruises are a good company to go with, been with them twice.

A good night out then....:p:whistling:
I went in Jan one year, excellent Holiday. I dont drink alot so drinks and stuff for me and wife was about £50. Some people had bar bills of about £200
Apparently drinks and tips will often add up to more than you paid for the holiday in the first place, and with this being so cheap i'm sure it would.

But does seem incredibly cheap.
