Even without a picture: No, No, No, No, No! You can get a proper camera for that money! There have been several on here already this week.

Forget the megapixels - virtually meaningless - you don't need more than about 7 or 8Mp and the pictures will only get worse on a compact camera at 12Mp.

I have to admit, I'm very intrigued by this one. Seen it in-store a couple of nights ago and liked the look of it.

Agfa used to be a HUGE company, hence the interest, but kind of died a death in the early 90's and been resold a couple of times.

I'd like to see a review, but this one might surprise you, could be good. Voted hot.

Why??????? You can get a proper camera for this money! It would be a marginal decision if they were clearing them out for half that price.

Like I said, Agfa used to a good proper company so you never know. They have been about since the 1800's so they have the experience ;)

I take your point though. If it was this or 8mp by a current good company, I'd take the 8mp. the difference between 8 and 12 at this level is marginal.

I do think £50 is a good price though, however, for me the real concern would be about their support for the product.

you could have 50billion pixels bottom line is, if it has a **** lense it will take **** pictures and at this price you can be sure it has a rubbish lense!

price isnt bad though so neither hot or cold.

Well, if it helps, in the sun this morning there is an ad for a 12MP Kodak for £55. You could try that :)

There's a Fuji at £45 (Jessops) which has been on here in the last few days. Not a brilliant camera and it's also AA powered but it will be way better than this and a little cheaper too. For about £60 you can get a really good Panasonic FS4 (refurb but 12 months warranty) from Tesco Outlet - 4x optical zoom and rechargeable Li-ion. Panasonic really are a cut above the average (excellent lenses) and this one was a bargain when it sold out in the stores last autumn at £90.

Frankly, there are lots out there for under £70 these days and you don't need to go to 'secondary' brands like this one. Brands are bought and sold and stuck on all sorts of tat to give them some 'credibility' these days. I think you can guarantee there's little or no connection between this 'Agfa' product and the decent German made snapshot film cameras of the distant past. Beware 'Polaroid' and even some 'Kodak' cameras too. Make sure it uses SD/SDHC memory; most do but if you get any Sony or some Olympus compact cameras you will be stuck with expensive MemoryStick or xD memory cards.

Don't get caught up in the Megapixel 'race'. 7 or 8Mp is plenty and higher numbers can actually result in poorer pictures (they try to cram too many pixels into a tiny sensor because the marketing department says it sells).

Mixed reviews on Kodak but some are OK and this sounds like a reasonable price. I'd suggest getting the model number and searching reviews first though.
