I used to rate Nero very highly but it has gotten so bloated now I hate it.
But if you like it a very good price

There's no free postage for orders under £20 excluding VAT and if you break this rule Scan have been known to cancel the free postage offer.

earlier post says you must buy this in conjunction with a DVD rewriter, by which time you would be most of the way to the minimum £23 spend for free delivery via AVForums registration.

Title of this post would benefit from clearer indication of true cost.

so unless you order other stuff to take the basket to over £20 before VAT, you'll need to pay £8.04?
That sucks.
Cheers for the reply Flipd

As stated it is OEM and needs a CD/dvd writer purchase but it goes through without

try looking a bit harder :whistling:

try looking a bit harder at the AVForums free delivery requirements you refer to. Especially note the first and fifth lines reproduced below from the AVForums / Scan free delivery details page:
1) To qualify for free delivery, there is a minimum order value of £20 excluding VAT.
2) Free delivery is to the UK MAINLAND only.
3) The SCAN & AVForums loyalty programme applies only to items despatched to addresses within mainland UK.
4) The SCAN & AVForums loyalty programme may be altered or withdrawn at any time and without prior notice.
5) Abuse of the SCAN & AVForums loyalty programme will result in suspension from AVForums and cancellation of your free delivery eligibility from SCAN.

abuse it and lose it.
play the game: Scan are offering free delivery if you give them a £23+ order. Seems a very reasonable offer that I personally would choose not to abuse with an attempted order of £1.05

Yes these are the terms and conditions - but sometimes it goes though (free postage that is) and sometimes people get banned from AVforums its the chance you take

No - you have to buy the add-on seperately.

absolutely the best there is. Twice as quick as nero and nero has always presented audio sync problems when doing NTSC conversions.

(ConvertXtoDVD)...absolutely the best there is. ..

agreed, although not really comparable to the Nero suite as the Nero suite is just that: a whole suite of applications.
but certainly for the specific purpose of DivX conversion direct to standard DVD format: ConvertXtoDVD is superb.

Hey, never thought of that. Knew it could burn multi-part DivX films to DVD but never thought of using that facility to shoehorn two films onto one disc. Thanks for the tip
