Ainol sunshine when she's gone

You will not get many apps filtered out in the market if you go with an Arm chip IMHO but each to his own as there are certain users of acquired taste who on a regular basis, daily in fact, can't go on without their 7 inch ainol.

I went for a Teclast P76ti for £100 instead of this, Allwinner A10 (Arm Cortex A8, Mali-400 graphics), even plays games like GTA III. I did look at the Paladin but the MIPS CPU put me off, a friend has one and my Teclast is a lot better (and doesn't sound so rude!!!).

you could have gone for the Elf

its 50pound in china. i am going to ask a chinese friend to buy it for me:)
#45
looks like 13.69 for import and tax fees if you get stung by it.

I dont understand, I posted the same kind of deal for £89.99 a week ago supplied from UK, (no custom duty and free postage) but it was removed by mods,

It's always extra for ainol.

Probably fake or just bad quality.

*beware* this comes with mips processor and not many apps are compatible with mips, secondly no front or back camera, no flash support... are you really sure want to spend 70 quid just for the sake of ics ?? sorry i wont.. try looking for ainol 7 elf which is upgraded and better model comes with arm processor + webcams every app works hence cold from me sorry!!

Be wary of focalprice, I ordered lots from them and then one day they ripped me for £190. Said they had sent and they had not, gave fake tracking that was signed for in Shenzhen China. Just a warning, I know this is a big company but that didn't stop them turning me over.
#51
Alright guys, I have one of these. Nice little tablet, the letdowns are the screen - low res so its kinda annoying when your mobiles screen is better than this. 2nd letdown is the lack of support for MIPS in the market, hardly any apps in there, allthough they are apparently addressing this.

But, saying all that - for the price is a decent piece of kit, but I would go for the Elf or Aurora for a bit more, better screen and better processor for the apps..

Is Ainol a part of Anus Laptops?

16GB Ainol NOVO 7 Aurora with IPS touchscreen can be had for around £125. Newer, better model.

From where ?.

I don't see why PCMCIA is mentioned in the specs.

Maybe they didn't pay hotukdeals (Fairly sure there is some wierdness going on at least ghostery stops this link working and refers to shareasale (seems dodgy as hell so it is blocked here).)

Think I will never use the direct link from now on.

Any of the usual chinese suppliers probably (hotmid / merimobiles / aliexpress / 365gate etc).

Won't find anyone who will ship before the 29th though I don't think. (And in waiting you will probably get a better price).

I ordered some equipment(xbox 360 hard dive from a post on here) from these in December 2011 still awaiting delivery. Have sent 3 emails to them over the last 5 days yet to get a reply.

My advice STEER CLEAR!!

I think the max. you can import is £30 without customs+taxes.
In Australia it's $1000AU.

I've bought electronics from China and some deliveries are fast.
I bought 100 leds (5 colors) for £2 and it took 9 days.

Some are not.
I ordered some breadboards but never got them after 30days, seller refunded me. I had the usual, "It's on it way" emails.

Got a nice £4.99 6v 20 rpm motor from Virtual Village that took 10 days. Strong torgue, enough to open my blinds.
I couldn't find the same motor in the UK without spending £20 and then there would be a delivery charge.

I've bought enough stuff from them to know they are fine, have also taken goods back which are faulty without so much as a quibble. I have found them to be fine.

It worries me when I hear about low cost tablets as the lack of software support is evident.
#66
tappy
mips based so most apps wont work including skype and facebook

I have Skype and Facebook running fine on the Velocity Cruz T103 that uses a MIPS CPU.
#67
For those that are concerned about the name Ainol - they've already changed it to Ainovo in the USA.
#68
is that anusol?
#69
make sure you research the CPU before you buy as there are a lot of apps that will not work without issues/work arounds since it is not an ARM CPU.
#70
This is very limited in the number of android apps you can run. Even though it has a 1 ghz processor, due to the fact that it is MIPS and not ARM. Few apps run on it. But its great for just checking email, music, youtube, lite browsing and other simple task. Imagine a low-mid range android phone but on 7 inchs

I assume before you send something back you send them an email to inform them of a problem. How long does it take them to respond to you?

As yet i`m still waiting for a response to any of my three emails. If i still have nothing from them by midnight today it`s off to the resolution centre. Thank goodness i paid with PayPal a service you can rely on!

Just got my Elf from mcbub.com, nice bit of kit for £95. No customs charges but maybe I was lucky.

The screen is much better than the older Nova7s though the viewing angle is a bit limited, £26 more buys you the Aurora with the superior IPS screen.

Both have the Cortex A10 processor so most apps should be compatible. 1GB RAM instead of the 512MB in the older machines.

Chinese new year so most Chinese sellers are closed till the end of the month.
#73
does this have full android market? cos the chinese version is severely restricted i.e. no social network downloads and others as well.
#74
Is this better than honeycomb?

I know 4.0 is newer, but I thought honeycomb was better for tablets?
#75
No full Android market yet, comes with the SlideMe Marketplace which is rather limited.
Hopefully the full market should be on its way soon.

there is a script to get it on, just google it. From what I read full market will be ready in a few days/weeks after Chinese new year

I decided to go for the Ainol Aurora 8gb from Pandawill, just over £100 shipped. I expect the custom charges will be just shy of £30. But the £30 or so difference between that and this is massive:

Bigger res,
IMPO nicer looking/thinner tablet,
double amount of ram,
faster ram,
ARM CPU so no app compatibility issues,
ALOT more support across the net for it.

The Ainol firmware is terrible and the source drops suck also.

(So I have been told anyway by someone who warez'es the market onto these sort of things for a living.)

Hardware is ok but there is no BSP (like there is for the A10)

Might get a bit better if MIPS gets involved.
